bucky wanted to walk to his house but he knew he had no idea where to go so we hopped through a portal. we stepped through onto some old docks by the river with the blistering southern sun beating down on our backs. i had to peel my jacket off as we made our way through the people. after all these years, i had almost forgotten what it felt like to be in the south. my accent had withered away as time went on and i had barely even noticed it.

bucky spotted sam talking to two older men and grabbed my arm as he picked up his pace towards him. he handed me the case that had been in his metal hand right as he heard sam ask how they would get the large boat parts off the back of their truck. with ease bucky lifted it off and set it down on the pavement while the men stared at him with wide eyes. i sent them a wave and an awkward smile trying to draw their attention away from the super soldier at my side. bucky took the case from my hands again and set it down in the back of the truck as sam rounded the back to stand beside us. "just dropping this off. just sign for it and we'll go."

my head whipped up to look at bucky at the simple sentence. what the hell did he mean 'oh we'll just go'? sam rested a hand on the box with drawn brows. "we called in a favor from the wakandans. figured you'd need it now anyway." i smiled at him but the confused look didn't leave his face. there was a popping sound behind us as a woman appeared at the steps of the boat. "sam!"

a pipe had come loose and steam was rushing out. sam ran to it first and tried to seal it back but bucky had to offer his superhuman strength to finally get the pipe sealed shut again. "why didn't you use the metal arm?" sam looked bucky up and down with a smirk playing on his lips. "well...i don't usually think of it immediately. i'm right-handed." bucky shrugged. i stepped to be at the boat's edge beside the woman i assumed to be sam's sister. he had mentioned her a few times before as well as the old fishing boat he now stood aboard. "i thought you were a little more of an airman, not a sailor sammy." i called over to the two men making them turn their attention back to us on the docks. "sure as hell ain't a mechanic either." sarah smirked at he brother as we snickered at him. bucky was looking around at the ship he stood on before giving me a little look out of the corner of his eye. "it's nice though...you need some help?" he asked almost questioning the both of us. sam cocked a brow looking between us before shrugging and gesturing for us to follow him.
