"rise and shine sleeping ugly." sam's voice pierced through the quite as i held my head. "samual i will snap your neck like a toothpick." i grumbled into my hands. my head was beating like a drum, like i had the most massive hangover of my life. with a heavy sigh i finally looked up and around the small car and nearly shit my pants at the man sitting beside me. "HOLY SHIT WHAT THE FUCK IS HE DOING HERE?!" in the cramped space i couldn't move much since steve had decided he needed half of the back seat to let his chair back. i swatted at him frantically and he lazily caught my hands with his metal one.

"y/n calm down he's good now." steve spoke calmly from the driver's seat in front of me. "last i checked this bitch was lowkey trying to kill us!" i screeched now trying to yank my hands out of his iron grip. "that's basically what i said!" sam snickered from the passenger seat. "y/n just calm down. i promise it's just bucky now." he looked at me through the rearview mirror with a stern look. i looked back at the man beside me. i noticed his eyes seemed softer now but he was still on edge. i nodded lightly and he slowly put my hands back in my lap. i got my breathing back under control after a moment and that's when i noticed the one cuff still locked around my wrist. i guess that's where the headache is coming from. the words 'stark industries' were engraved in the metal making me huff and fall back in the seat. "are you ok?" steve asked now looking over his shoulder. "what happened?" i retorted, it was obvious how i was feeling.

"secretary ross thought it was best to make sure you couldn't leave so tony cooked up those. i got the other two off but that one wasn't going anywhere." steve sighed seeing my shoulders slump even more. tony did this? the memory of the last time i got put down like this ran through my head like a freight train as my eyes stayed down on the engraved words. a cold hand fell on my knee making me jump slightly and come out of my daze. the moment i jumped james's hand left me. "sorry," i whispered over to him, "i-is it deactivated like he cant track us right?" sam's face lit up with a cocky smirk, "duh."

"there's one more thing y/n." steve spoke up again as we began to exit the highway. "oh goody what else is there?" i groaned propping my knees on the back of his chair earning a small crack from my exhausted joints.

"they leaked your identity."

"of course they did..."

the car came to a stop an hour later under a random bridge where another car was waiting for us. sharon's slim figure emerged from the car and steve got out from ours. "come on y/n," he said as he slid the driver's seat forward so i could escape from the small car. i groaned when i stood cracking my back as i walked behind steve to meet sharon. "i'm not sure you understand the concept of a getaway car." she said as she rounded the car to stand by the trunk. "it's low profile," steve shrugged his large shoulders now standing beside the woman. "it's a hunk of shit steve." i grumbled rolling my stiff shoulders, it felt as if every muscle in my body was asleep. steve nudged me with his elbow making my whole body sway as he whispered, "language."
