Define Ezria

Chapter 16

"Who?" Laura asked my mom and I forgot how to breathe.

"He's Aria's English teacher, just twenty two, fresh out of college like you."

"You have my attention now, go on"Laura said with a gleam in her eyes which only made my stomach twitch.

"Well did I say he's a looker too? I mean blue eyes and black hair might not be your type but I'm thinking you're gonna change your mind when you see him"

Laura thought about for a while and then she grinned wickedly "Count me in Ella, what else does thing guy have?"

A girlfriend. I thought and stood up making the two of them stare at me.

"Aria are you okay honey?"

"Y-yes I just remembered I have a test for tomorrow and I must go... now"

I scooped up my phone and practically run out of the grill, only stopping a good five minutes away from it and leaning on a wall for support.

My thoughts were a maze with only two names sticking out. That of Laura's with Ezra's.

I tried to picture them together, and the most terrifying thing was, I actually could.

Laura, was tall, blondish, funny, smart, well educated and most important twenty two.

She would fit right away with Ezra. He surely wouldn't be immune to her charms, I mean how could he? She is everything I'm not.

I tear made its way down my cheek and I wiped it away quickly. Stupid. Crying won't help me a bit and it will only prove how immature and childish I really am.

I texted mom that I walked home, and headed to Hanna's house, which was closer, in desperate need to talk to my friends.

A minute away from her beautiful Victorian house I stopped abruptly and smacked my forehead.

What was I doing?! I couldn't talk to Hanna, or anyone else for that matter. What was there to say? Remember our English teacher? Yeah I'm having an affair with him but now I think he's gonna leave me for my baby sitter.

That sentence sounded so insane even to my own ears that I started laughing, though I was pretty sure I was crying too.

I spinned around to leave but smacked right onto someone.

"Aria? What are you doing here?" Hanna asked me and I took a step backwards to look at her. She was in sports clothes and so was Caleb who was besides her and who was giving me a weird look.

Hanna seemed happy, clearly just finishing a work out session with her boyfriend, and I didn't want to ruin her evening. After all we've been through she deserved to be happy.

"Hey Han,hey Caleb. I was just in the neighborhood, I'm going now, I'll see you tomorrow at school" I mumbled and walked around them to get away, but a hand on my elbow yanked me back.

Hanna rolled her eyes at me and hugged me "Do you seriously believe I'll let you leave in that state? You're crying for heavens shake"

"No I'm not" I mumbled, my face still buried in her shoulder.

"Yes you are, now cut the crap and come with me.I know what you're trying to do so don't worry about it.Caleb and I were together all day and besides, sisters before misters, remember?"

"Sorry baby but duty calls. I'll see you later tomorrow okay?" She now said to Caleb and I pulled away from her to watch him nod with a smile.

"Sure thing. Don't worry Aria, I know I come second when it comes to you and the other girls, and I'm perfectly okay with it, it would worry me if it was the other way round. Now go, I'll see you both tomorrow"
