"What am I looking at?" I turned to Hanna who was holding the hanger with pride.
"Your costume" she rolled her eyes and handed it to me.
"Is it invisible?" I took it from her holding it a good distance away from my body like it was stinging nettle. "Ha bloody ha, Aria. I worked really hard on this. I couldn't decide on what kind of vampire I wanted to draw inspiration from so I combined all cultural phenomena in one."
She unhooked the black long cape and draped it over my shoulders. "A cape from Dracula." She then pushed a little coffin shaped box in my palm along with a bottle of body glitter. "Fangs from The Vampire Diaries and glitter that would put Edward Cullen to shame!"
"And what about the actual costume? Where's this from?" I touched the lingerie black baby doll.
"Well the gag is that I couldn't figure out how to add True Blood in the mixture, and then it clicked that the main ingredient of that show is sex. So I found that beauty that will definitely lead to sex, you're welcome"
I just stared at her unblinking. "You are unbelievable." Hanna beamed ignoring the sarcastic nature of my comment and took a bow. "Why, thank you my friend, now go get changed I have to work on your face before the girls get here".
I grunted and made my way to the bathroom. We had hours before the actual Halloween party but knowing us we'd barely make it in time. I reluctantly stripped down to my underwear, blushing furiously when I realized it was the same matching pair I wore to Ezra's days ago.
I tried to avoid thinking about that night but shame was making it really hard. I still couldn't believe what on earth had possessed me to act like that it was so unlike me.
Ezra had tried talking to me in between kisses but every time I heard his voice I was reminded of the baby, Jackie and everything else that I had to deal with.
So I made him stop talking all together. I remember distinctly pushing him onto the bed and taking his shirt off in the process.
What followed would put even the dirtiest of minds to shame and the worst part was that I got up and left in the middle of the night, after Ezra fell asleep, exhausted.
I hadn't managed to face him after that night.I had texted him feigning a cold and homework to catch up on. I even skipped his class.
I felt alienated even if what I've done wasn't technically wrong. We were dating after all. It was the ethical part of it all that bagged him. I had used him for sex.
Sex however, unlike popular belief, didn't solve anything.
I shook my head and looked in the mirror, quickly putting on the questionable outfit.
It did wonders for my curves and even the cast on my leg didn't lessen it's appeal but unlike Hanna's pimping out intentions, no sex would be taking place tonight.
I threw the cape over me, which thankfully covered me up significantly, if I held the flaps together in the front, which I intended doing. All night long.
By the time I managed to rub the glitter all over me and looked like a disco ball, the girls had arrived and Hanna's room was in havoc with everyone trying to get ready in time.
Three hours, a lot of pre drinking and 3 liters of make up later, we pilled out of Spencer's Jeep and into the school's front entrance.
"As if we're not here enough already" Em mattered and we all grunted in response but Hanna who was determined to have a good time and show off her costume.
I had to admire her dedication.
We followed a group of drunk zombies down the cheaply decorated hallways and into the gym that once again was transformed into an attraction.
