The following week passed in a blur and before I even realized it, it was Friday. I had successfully managed to avoid Ezra at all costs that week solely because I was nervous out of my mind.

Of course that was really absurd from my part after everything we've been through but it was our official first day ever, and the dating book didn't include what to do on a date with your English teacher.

Hanna had already picked out my outfit, and Spencer kept her mouth shut when I begged her for information. All I really knew was that the date was in Philadelphia and I was to drop at Ezra's apartment at six in the afternoon.

Emily in turn had promised to cover for me saying that her and I were taking a day trip to Phili to get our heads cleared.

Dad looked suspicious when I brought it up that Friday night but with Emily in the room he had his hands tight.

Em ended up staying over at my house but left early in the morning to go meet Maya with whom she was actually going to spend the day.

"Hello" I picked up my phone after I located it on my nightstand. Heavy from sleep I didn't realize that the screeching from the other line was actually Hanna who was screaming her ears off at me.

"...and all the grooming and you're still in bed! We're not gonna make it"

"Hanna. Chill. Yourself. I'm coming right now. The date isn't until the afternoon, I don't know why you're freaking out"

"Just get here already" she hung up and I rolled my eyes.

Dad and Mike were deep in conversation and they didn't pay me any attention as I slipped in the kitchen to pour myself a much needed cup of coffee.

"You're leaving already?" Dad asked when I reemerged down the stairs half an hour later.

"Yeah Em doesn't want us to get stuck in traffic" I lied effortlessly yet again.

"Good thinking. I'll see you tomorrow then. Are you sure Emily's aunt is okay with you spending the night?"

"For the millionth time dad, yes she is. I have to go now, bye you guys"I slammed the door close and exhaled in relief.

It was a blessing that Em's aunt in Phili had never met me. Maya was going to be me for one night and stay there with Em while Ezra and I stayed together whenever it was he was taking me.

"Finally!" Hanna said in an accusing tone the second I stepped foot in her room and got to work immediately after that.

First she thought waxing my entire body was essential so that's exactly what she did, so after two hours the only hair on my body were the ones on my head and eyebrows.

Her mom called us for lunch around noon thankfully, but shortly after that Hanna went on with her Barbie doll dress up.

"You're really enjoying giving people makeovers don't you?" I asked her when she was halfway applying an avocado beauty mask on my face.

"Pretty much. Try being the fat one, for years and you'll see how much makeovers are needed"

"Hanna, you know you didn't have to do that, change I mean"

"But I did. I was the end of every single pig joke ever. You were there, you remember"

And I did. Hanna hadn't always been the bombshell thin blonde she was today, there was a time that even Alison was giving her a hard time about her weight. After that she developed an eating disorder. Of course bulimia was slowly killing her and she was smart enough to realize it.
