Everyone was staring. Again.
Everyone was jumping to conclusions. I mean I would have if I was in Ezra's class since outbursts like these were a common phenomenon at this point.
Jeremy took a step away from me and turned to Ezra who was still fuming. If this was a cartoon he would have steam coming out of his ears.
"Mr. Fitz?" Jeremy questioned him confused as to what triggered Ezra's rude interruption.
"Follow. The. Script." Ezra spat out in staccato as if to make himself perfectly clear.
Jeremy threw me an exaggerated glance from the corner of his eye, which I shrugged off, equally confused.
"I was. After the vows are voiced the guy kisses the girl. I mean haven't you ever been to a wedding Mr. Fitz?" Jeremy snickered and a bunch of other people joined in.
"Silence" Ezra shouted again and sat back down running his pen through the lines of the script.
After a long and awkward silence he just said "From the top" without looking up at us.
We spent the next three hours going over and over the wedding scene since more often than not someone would mess up and we would have to start again.
I was starting to get really suspicious after Hanna messed up a third time and we had to start over again, since all she had to do was to walk down the hypothetical isle.
If i didn't know her any better I'd say it was an innocent mistake but I did know her better and I could see she was doing it to piss off Ezra.
If looks could kill my blonde devious friend would be five feet under by now.
I had lost count of how many times I kissed Jeremy, but after that initial shock of the first time I was doing it mechanically.
My lips were doing one thing but my mind was racing a hundred miles ahead. Jeremy's joke about Ezra and his wedding attendance record had thrown me off balance.
I was terrified about the direction my thoughts were heading but I had a talent of imagining the worse possible senario so the blow of reality wouldn't hurt as much.
That's what me and the girls used to do when Alison first went missing. We all thought it then. Alison is dead. But it was more of a way of copying with things. We would say the worst possible thing so it wouldn't happen, right?
But it happened. And I was afraid it was about to happen again. I wanted to correct Jeremy then. I wanted to tell him that Ezra was pretty aware of what happened to a wedding because he had attended one.
His own.
----
"Remind me to kill you once I get out of this hideous dress" I hissed at Hanna as we made our way out of the auditorium and into the parking lot to head back home.
"Ha I'd love to see you try. You're literally an child with two broken limbs."
I squinted my eyes at her but couldn't help but laugh at the ridiculousness of the situation. I did in fact resemble just that at 5 feet and plaster covering fifty percent of my body.
"Wait here I'll get the car" Spencer rummaged through her purse for the car key and turned the corner with Hanna on toe, leaving me and Em waiting in the freezing cold.
"That was interesting" Em announced pulling me out of my dark thoughts and I looked at her only to find her looking across the lot at Ezra and Jeremy talking.
