She turned her head once she was done eating so cabir started eating and we were jsut talking about hockey and how the captain is a fucked up human but we made sure not to swear because nandini was listening
a part of me really wants to know what's going on with nandini but I know she is off limits so I need to focus on the words coming out of cabir's mouth instead of eyeing nandini's face
"Bhai" nandini whisepred
his attention turned to her right away making me smile
I grabbed the dishes and as I washed them I could hear them talking about something but I wasn't paying attention. My body felt weird, almost in a way that I wanted to punch whoever gave her those bruises
The stranger thing was, I didn't even know her much and I still wanted to protect her, a part of me wanted to know whats was going on
"Manik you okay if she takes the room right beside yours, it has balcony" cabir asked
"Ya man, no problem" I replied
He got up with nandini and walked her to her room while I cleaned up a bit and sat on the couch waiting for cabir.
"We gotta talk" he said
"Sit" I mumble patting the spot beside me
he sat down grabbing a beer from the fridge which we probably need to clean out for nandini
"She walked here from home, not a single thing she took from there"
"Whats with the bruises" I asked
"Nothing, mhm Manik I need her to stay with me"
"Dude I literally told her and im telling you that she can stay here forever"
"She mhm she is going to go to our college, first year and I need to take her shopping tomorrow, do you wanna come?" He asked
"I can't, I have to go meet my family for a rendezvous aka telling Manik how reckless and stupid he is" I groaned
"You can make an excuse tell them mhm you have a girl to impreganate" he said
"The fuck brooo, do you realize what you are saying"
"Ya probable a bad idea right"
"Ya, they are coming for lunch tom" I siad
"Sounds good, mhm about nandini" he siad
"Yeah?"
"She is off limits man" he said
"I know" shitt did he notice how I looked at her
"Good, im going to go to bed okay"
"Sounds good, goodnight cabir"
"Night Manik"
As he walked into his room and shut the door, I couldn't help but walk towards Nandini's room. The door was slightly cracked so I peaked in, I know I shouldn't have but I did.
She sat there on her bed sobbing, she was literally sobbing silently, her knees drawn into her chest.
I pushed the door slightly and walked inside, her head turned to me as soon as I stepped inside, she grabbed a pillow holding ti close to her chest.
"Hey" I whispered
"I am sorry for ruining your pillow" she said
I noticed it was wet making me chuckle
"Nandini that isn't something you should be sorry for, its okay and its your now not mine" I whispered
"Thank you for letting me stay" she said with a tiny little smile
