"Mani" I heard nandini
She was walking out of my room, her head still down, my wallet in her hand.
"Thank you come lets have you put something else" I said
"Why?" She asked
"Come on ill let you know later" I said taking her to her room
"I don't feel like dressing up" she mumbles
"I know, but would you wear this so we can match" I ask grabbing a set of shorts and a hoodie that matched my sweats and hoodie
Cabir, her and I got matching ones when we were at the mall
she grabbed them walking to her bathroom, I quickly called a few people to deliver a few things which I didn't plan on but im gonna do it anyways.
she came out looking dull, no not her beauty but her face
"You look so beautiful baby" I whispered
She walked over to me and wrapped her arms around my back, her chin resting on my chest. I lifted my hand up and caressed her face while my other arm was behind her holding her
"What's wrong?" I ask
"I don't wanna stay in" sh whisepred
"I know, come on we can go out, i have a few errands to run, would you be interested in coming with me" I asked
"Can I"she asked
"Yes"
She nodded placing her head on my chest but jumped back as soon as she heard cabir's footprints coming in the room.
"Nandini pumpkin im so sorry you had to hear that" he whispered
"Its okay bhai" she whisepred
"Go with Manik for a bit okay" he said to which she nodded
I held onto her hand entwining my fingers with hers, I did see cabir looking at me with a warning but I didn't care, I wasn't gonna pull back today.
It was supposed to be such a beautiful day for her and she is so sad and upset so no I don' care how much shit I was gonna get from cabir, right now she is my priority
"We will be back soon oaky, the waffles are ready so eat them and did you want coffee" I asked
"Ya, ill text you my order" he said
he kissed nandini's head before her and I walked out of the house and to my car, I opened the door for her, she sat down while I got in the drivers seat
She put on her seatbelt and kinda hunched over as I started driving, not too long after, like maybe 5 minutes into the drive she started sobbing silently, her face in her knees, she was trying to be quiet.
Sighing I pulled over in front of this beach, i unbuckled myself and put my hand on the back of her head since she was hunched over.
"Shhh shh nandini"
"Manik she, why is everyone like this with me, its like I messed up something or everything and never apologized but I swear I didn't do anything. If a glass break its nandini, if someone says something its nandini, we are late for something its nandini, if anyone loses anything it has to be nandini, if we don't have milk anymore, oh nandini drank it, oh her boyfriend broke up with her its nadnini's fault, her boyfriend touched nandini, has to be nandini's fault for sure, its nandini, its always me. I am always the problem" she cried
I unbuckled her picking her up placing her in-between my legs, she is so tiny that she fit perfectly, her back against the steering wheel
"When I have a bad day, its nandini who makes me smile, when I come home from practice hurt, its nandini who yells at me right before she ices my knuckles When I am failing miserably at chemistry, its nandini who comes in with a smile and makes me understand the topic. When I lose my temper a little, its nandini who gives me a sweet cupcake. When I can't find my car keys becasue I keep throwing them here and there, its nandini who comes to me with those keys in her hands. When cabir is swearing its nandini who tells him swearing is bad. When cabir is grumpy its nandini who cheers him up"
Her eyes were swollen as she cried hearing me
"You are right, it is always you, it is always nandini because only you can make us happy. I am not going to speak for cabir right now okay, I am going to talk about me, about what I feel is that okay?" I asked
She nodded harshly wiping her face
"Hey no, how many times I have told you not to harshly wipe your pretty face"
"Many times" she whisepred
I smile as I gently wipe the tears off her face, I cupped her face in my hands. Her face is so tiny in my hands
"It doens't matter what mood I am in, a second with you, a look at your face, a smile from you, a giggle, anything from you makes me happy. Nandini it's almost overwhelming, these things you don't realize you do for me, it makes me feel cared for. I feel happy when im with you. Some people may have problems with you but I swear to god nandini, you make me happy and I want you around me forever. I will keep you safe, I will protect you"
"You are saying this because I am living with you" she mumbles pushing her hair away
"I am saying this because I feel this for you. i will tell you a little secret" I whispered
"Like cooties" she asked
"Exactly like cooties"
She nodded making me smile
"You always tell me that you like sleeping next to me adits a habit"
"Its because you make me feel safe, I know that if I sleep next to you, you will wake up with the slightest noise because you want me to be safe next to you"
"I sleep better with you next to me, and you are right. I wake up from the slightest noise becasue I don't want anyone to hurt you. I care about you a lot nandini and seeing these tears in your eyes makes me want to hurt everyone that caused these tears to fall. Your tears are so precious, they are pearls for me, lets not waste them"
Her lips quivered a little as she sniffled
She threw her arms around me, her forehead rested against my lips.
"I am trying so hard to keep it together Manik but it breaks me when no one in my family remembers my birthday but if it was Di's birthday Mumma would be here with balloons and all these fancy things. Manik why is it that only bhai loves me" she asked
i kissed her forehead a few times.
"My parents mhm they don't care about me either but you see cabir he cares, sometimes he acts like a girlfriend and kisses my cheek and stuff but hey at least we both have someone"
She giggled making me smile.
"He kisses you"
"Sometimes" I said
"Heheh maniii what would your girlfriend think" she asked laughing
"I don't have but maybe I will soon" I said
Her face lifted up, her eyes held something.
"You will leave me when she comes in your life" she asked
"No" I replied right away
I mean there is no way because she is the one I want, and honestly I am gonna go for it
She is offlimits but she makes me happy and I am going to go for it. I will deal with cabir later.
"Nandini baby can I ask you something" I asked
"I like when you call me that" she whispered touching my face
"I know love, but can I ask you something?"
"Yes" she says softly
Her eyes were wandering on my face as she caressed my face.
"Have you ever been in a relationship" I asked
"No, I mhm I"
"Its okay you don't have to tell me. Now would my little doll like some yummy coffee" I asked
"Vanilla coffee" she said smiling
"Perfect then we have a couple places to go" she nodded climbing back in her seat
She buckled up and we drove the cafe drive thru.
