Chapter 65

I woke up to my phone ringing, I tried ignoring it because I was exhausted but it just wouldn't stop, I groan as I grabbed the phone putting it to my ear

"Hello" I mumble

"Manik" I heard and my whole body froze a little

I sat up causing nandini to flinch as she jumped too, her eyes flutter open making me feel bad.

"Im so sorry baby" I whisper wrapping my arm around her pulling her close

She rests her head on my chest as I caress her hair

"Hello, manik" I heard the voice reminding me of the phone

"What do you need?" I ask on the phone

"Can you please come down and open the door"

I look at the time to see it's 4 in the morning.

"Please I promise I won't do anything stupid, please manik"

"Give me a second" I said cutting the call

I lean down and kiss nandini's head and then her lips seeing she was fast a sleep on my chest.

I moved her off me, placing a few pillows around her, I kissed her head before putting on a t shirt and jogging down. I open the door to see my brother standing there

Yup the same one I hadn't seen in let's see mhm almost 5 years, he stood there, his hair disheveled, his face was dull and he looked skinnier than I had seen him the last time

i move aside letting him in, he smiled at me but I couldn't smile back, I jsut couldn't. I shut the door behind him and stood in front of him

"You grew up os much" he mumbles sort of admiring me which is stupid as fuck

"Why are you here?" I ask

"Manik im sorry" he says

"For what?" I ask leaning back on the sofa a bit

"For everything, god. This is already hard enough for me"

"Oh im sorry" I taunt

"Look I know its been years since I saw you and lots has happened, a lot. Not just with mom and dad but with me and I wanted to reach out"

"Ya well you didn't so coming to my house at 4 in the morning makes no sense to me" I interrupt him

"Manik please jsut give me a chance to explain" he begs

"No, you had 5 years and you didn't lift a single finger so no you don't get to come here and tell me you are sorry after all these years" i couldn't deal with this

Before he could say anything I heard steps coming down

"Maniiii" I heard nandini's whine making me look up

She was walking down with the blankets around her whihc I was so thankful for because I knew she was only wearing my t shirt and some underwear

She didn't even look around, she walked straight to me laying her head on my chest.

"Hi my love, why are you up?" I ask wrapping my arms around her caressing her hair

"Where did you go? Im sleepy mani" she says

"Im sorry baby, how about you go up and ill join you in a second" I told her

"No, I want you to come with me. I want to sleep, im tired" she complained

"I know, I know love" I caress her hair

"is that nandini" maan asks, yes my brother's name is maan

i nodded, she jumps onto me a little turning around
