chapter 23

Alexia's POV
"Yes,dead to me" beth said with mixed emotions storming out of the cabin
Was she crazy,she had a sprained ankle and she bolted out like a maniac,I was already panicking,did I really have to be persistent about her dad? ,maybe he is a butthole like mine,it was a touchy subject for her. I was about the cabin with no traces of beth anywhere near.
I went into panick mode,she was beginning to be the only real friend I had beside Wes who is six feet under,I would go crazy if anything happened to her,I ran to meet Mrs Carmen telling her beth ran off on her sprained ankle looking really conflicted not giving her much details

"Relax sweetie,we are gonna find her" she said reassuringly

"But....b-b-but shes hurt and out there with no one,she hasn't even eaten anything" I said angry at myself

"Ralpha,I and some guards would go in search for her but you could also look for her in possible places she could be" Mrs Carmen said placing her hands on my shoulder
With all that said,not knowing where to look I sat in the middle of the camp under the old tree,thinking about my friend,she could be anywhere

Eddys POV
When beth fell I was scared,I was about to run to her side when Eric who appeared to be my partner tapped my shoulders,indicating it was my turn,I took one last glance at her,she was heading towards Mrs Carmen's ward and she looked like she was in a lot of pain,she wasn't alone,her partner was with her so I continued my drills my mind always drifting back to beth.
We were done with our drills for the day so I headed to the cabin to freshen up,finishing in a few minutes I headed towards the cafeteria with hopes to see beth,I stopped halfway sighting Alexia with no Beth under the tree looking all worried and I didn't feel good about this at all,I headed towards her and sat by her side

"Hey,how are you" I said unsure of the reply I was gonna get

"What do you want"she said frustrated

" umm,I don't mean to bug you but am trying to find beth and if you can tell me where she is that would be helpful "I said trying to not further annoy her

"I-I don't know where she is" she said wiping stray tears from her face

"How can you not know where she is,I saw both of you leave the field together" I said confused

"You think I don't wanna know where she is,she stormed off running on her sprained ankle looking like a maniac" she said angrily,yelling at me
     It took a while for what she said to settle in,then I started freaking out,we were barely friends but I care about her anyways and I cared alot,she was hurting physically and emotionally and the worst part was that she was alone,realization dawned on me that I probably knew where she was and I ran towards there

"Where are you going" Alexia inquired

"To look for beth" I said and with that I stormed towards the beach,moving closer I heard soft sobs and I saw a figure,relief washed over me that she is okay and safe

"Everyone is looking everywhere for you" I said moving closer it her

"How did you know where to find me" she asked

"I don't know,I guess I just knew" I said staring at nothing but kept my gaze forward

"How is your ankle" I asked

"It aches but not as much as my heart" she said trying to hold hack the tears threatening to spill

"Do you wanna talk about it" I asked

"Why should I trust you" she asked

"You don't have to trust me or even tell me,I just want you to feel better that's all" I told her in all sincerity

"Why do you care,you don't even know me" she said wiping her face with her hand

"I can't answer that question cos I don't even know the answer,all I know is that I care and I care a lot" I said handing her my handkerchief
    She was hesitant at first but she took it from me
"Alexia is worried sick about you,I wonder what goth cries" I said chuckling and she joined me soon after

"Am sorry I worried everyone" she said facing me fully,her eyes were red and puffy,she must have been crying here me for a while but she looked cute non the less

"You don't need to apologise,everyone one needs their alone time once in a while" I said smiling down at her

"Can we head back am starving" she said and as if on cue her stomach grumbled and she flushed pink
     I helped her to balance as we headed back,I felt giddy at the proximity of our closeness,I was holding her waist but I was trying not to think of anything perverted,she is different I reminded myself. A figure darted towards us and as it moved closer it beacame clearer that it was Alexia,she looked happy,relieved and worried at the same time

"How did you find her" she said out of breath

"I told you I was gonna,didn't I" I said grinning

"Questions later,can I get something to eat"beth said

" umm,why don't you clean up,you look a mess,so people won't attack you with questions "I said politely not that she wasn't beautiful.
    She looked like she was considering what I told her before stretching her hands towards Alexia and holding her  close

" I guess I should be seeing you around then"I said with a smile
   I started towards the cafeteria, what can I say,I was also farmished

"Eddy" beth called out and I stopped,turning to look at her

"Thank you for today" she said smiling

"Your always welcome and umm if you wanna talk about anything am here" I said smiling back

"I better go clean up" she said pointing towards the girls cabin

"See you around beth" I told her
   She turned around limping with Alexia beside her and everything went well from there on.
