Lilith refused to speak on the way back to the castle, and your friends dare not speak out of turn, insinuating that they'd either been threatened or something or someone was being held hostage. Stolas and Satan took measures to comfort her, even in their confusion.

The journey back to the castle was quiet, even once you were inside the protective walls once more, Lilith held her silence. With a worried look at Alastor, he mirrored your concern, and you released his hand to follow your mother up the stairs to her room.

With the two of you alone, you finally spoke, "Momma... What's going on?" Lilith turned to you as the door closed behind you. The soft click of the brass lock fitting into the hole in the doorframe was the only noise in the room besides your soft breathing.

Lilith looked at you like she was staring right through you. It was eerie, the way her green eyes no longer held their gleam or confidence. With a sigh, she hugged herself and turned away. Sitting on the chaise at the foot of the bed, she removed her gloves and rubbed her face.

"I need a moment to think before I tell you anything, Mel," She said, earning a frown from you.

"Mom, just tell me what happened to the best of your understanding... I want to help you, I don't like seeing you so..." Lilith lifted her head at the last few words and you struggled to find words to explain it, "shaky." She let out a sigh, and seemed to be contemplating her situation, so you instead stood, walking into their lavish bathroom and starting a bath. You took the time to add a few salts and oils to the water, hoping the smell would do something to help clear her head.

After a few moments, she finally roused herself, pulling the dirty dress from her body as she sank into the water, you sat on the counter, watching her relax into the foaming water before she finally spoke.

"As I'm sure you've guessed by now, the oni still hasn't been caught," She began slowly, her voice drawn out and tired. "However, it seems that we have a bigger problem," she drifted.

"However so?" You questioned, concerned by the troubled expression she bore. Lilith drew a quick breath and let it out just as fast, "I'm not sure, but it seems like an Oni, likely the same one that's been traversing the realms, has bonded with an entity containing holy magic,"

"Did dad lose to it?!" You exclaimed immediately, terrified to your father. Lilith eyes widened as she realized she'd given the wrong impression.

"No, honey. Not at all!" She clarified quickly, rubbing her face, "at least he hadn't while we were there..." she breathed. "I don't know who it could be, though. You and Charlie are completely fine. Adam is dead, and as bitter as I am towards your uncles and aunts, I'd hate to think it's one of them or their kids..." Lilith finished, leaning back in the tub, causing the steaming water to slosh around.

"Well, I haven't heard anything from Michael and Azrael, they just came down to tell us that Raphael had gone missing, and I'm assuming you already knew that?"

"Yes, he's still with your father," Lilith confirmed, beginning to wash her hair, "so are the others." Her voice was fairly strained a she let out a sigh. "Right now, I'm not sure what to do, so If you just want to make some food, or get some, I'd really appreciate it. the others would too, we haven't had a proper meal in several weeks now," Lilith said.

"Okay, I'll get something together for everyone," You assured, leaving her alone in the bathroom once more. As your feet traversed over the plush red carpet lining the hallways, you once again tried to figure out what this all meant. Seviathan had detected a powerful holy entity going between rings recently, and by all logical means, it couldn't have been Kelsey. The demon no longer possessed the Amulet of Thornes, so his reading wouldn't have been a match for holy magic.
