"Y'all don't have school? I thoughts kids was supposed to be in school 24/7?"Lauren asked, looking down at the hungry kids sitting in front of her.

"Is she serious?" Paris asked, looking over at her older brother. "It's summer break," Amere said, looking Lauren up and down.

"oh, and what grade he in? He gotta stay too?" she asked, pointing at Amari. London chuckled from behind Lauren as she made breakfast for them all.

Last night Lauren had made a pact to actually try to get along with the kids. She was trying, she just didn't know where to start.

and after what Lauren had told London, She didn't want to sit there and dawn on it. Lauren was strong, London didn't allow herself to fell sorry for herself, because there was nothing she could do be but there for Lauren.
she had been through a lot.

and as for the kids they were mixed emotions, Paris was confused with why she was doing this, they were fine without a mom they didn't need one now. Amere stayed closed off, he knew just like London that she was going to quit on them in a week or tomorrow.

Amari didn't care, he didn't spare her a glance. He was to focused on the tablet on his lap.

"He's only in preschool," London laughed, placing her hand on her lower back.

"Oh, Is he mute?" she asked, biting the tip of her nail as she looked down at the four year old.

"What? No. He's not used to you," she spoke, taking the pot of oats off the stove.

"Or maybe he just don't like you." Paris shrugged, leaning forward on the counter. "Is she mean like that all the time? Or is it just to me?" Lauren asked, jerking her head back.

"To you and to people she doesn't know or like." Amere spoke, mugging his mom.

"Ugh, why y'all all so mean? What I do?" she asked, holding her hands up in defense. The kids eyes widen, as Amari side eyed her.

"Is she crazy, dumb, or blind?" Paris asked, looking at London. "Are you being dead serious right now?" Amere asked, chuckling as he shook his head.

"I guess not," she replied, scratching the back of her head as she made a 'yikes' face.

"Here, that's enough interrogating for all of y'all." London spoke, placing the plates in front of them, along with juice boxes.
