"Where the hell are you two coming from?" Lilith barked as Ava re-entered the abandoned school building with Beatrice.

"Lilith! Pay attention to your way of expressing yourself!" admonished her Mother Superior.

With a rare serenity and joy, they sat down at the table in the furnished common room and waited until everyone was gathered. In the meantime, Vincent and Dora had also arrived. Finally, Bea signaled her to start telling with a nod. Everything was roughly explained, all expressions were represented in faces. Horror for Mother Superior, anger for Dora and Lilith, fear for Yasmine and determination for Camila.

"But if such a portal only exists on the other side, how did it get here?"

Yasmine asked the question, which was not exactly unimportant. Ava and Beatrice had already thought about this during the trip back here.

"We don't know. Unfortunately, it was destroyed with the warehouse."

Lilith looked at her earnestly. "Ava, how did you say again, have you become so strong?"

"I..."

"Because I did some research. There's another person besides the two of us and Adriel who's been over there before. However, she tells a lot more about it than you do."

Slowly, anger rose in her. Lilith's indirect insinuation had certainly not escaped her. "I was trained and educated. From Reya and..."

"Imbecility!"

Again she was interrupted by Lilith. This time, however, Ava couldn't hold back anymore and walked towards her with clenched fists.

"Enough!" roared Mother Superior. "Ava is telling the truth."

"How do you know?" asked Beatrice

What should be the doubt? Isn't Beatrice no longer trusting her words?

"In my time as a warrior nun, there was a ritual to communicate with the higher beings. It was strictly forbidden to tell a single word about it. The danger is too great if people would learn about the actual existence of the other world. Lessons were taught and skills improved."

"Why didn't you ever mention any of it?" Vincent asked, leaning against the door frame.

Annoyed, Ava hissed at him. "She just said that!"

"I'm aware of that, but it might have helped to know more about what you were left in the other world."

Resolved, Mother Superior dismissed it. "That would have been a bigger mistake than a benefit."

With the look that Mother Superior gave her, Ava knew immediately that she knew what had happened there. Especially how.

"But that doesn't explain why a portal almost flooded the entire city with demons."

Camila seemed to have somehow saved the situation, because Bea had apparently noticed her exchange of glances with Mother Superior and looked at her very suspiciously until just now.

"I know as much about this as you do, so we need to find out as soon as possible," Ava said between a few deep breaths.

"Can't Reya help us with that?"

"How did you come up with that?" Ava Vincent asked pointedly.

"She trained you, as you just said yourself, can't she help you in this matter?"

The others were not allowed to know how close she really was to Reya. Worried, she glanced at Beatrice. She immediately understood and defused the situation.
