Ch 11: For Science

Chapter 11: For Science

Sarah woke up from being moved in the seat and she yawn as she sat up

"We're here" Smith said as he stopped the car at the front of the gate of the mansion

"Wow- what a place he's got" she said with awe as she got out of the car

"Well he's a scientist so he makes good money so why not spend that money on something." Smith said as he opened the gate

They walked up to the door and Smith rang the door bell and waited

"So what science is he's field anyway?" Sarah questioned

"Well from what I heard medical and Biological and a bit of a inventer of tech that would help us survive out in space so he's a wild card of science." Smith said as he rang the bell again

"Wow that sounds nerdy to me" she said

"Well he's going to be a big help for us if he can." He said as he was about to ring again someone opened the door.

"Yes what is it I'm working on someth-..." The man said agitated

"Hey Zodolf long time no see" Smith replied

"Smith... It has been a long time since I've had seen you." Zodolf said as he shook Smith's hand

"Ah I see you got lucky here" he said as he looked at Sarah

"Oh I didn't get lucky she's a friend and she needs some help." Smith replied

"Oh... Well come in I'll see what I can do" Zodolf said as he waved them to come inside the mansion

They all walked to a table that could sit up to 15 people and they sat and talked.

"Now what's the thing that she needs help with, abortion? Cancer? Or is it something else?" Zodolf said

"No, No, and yes it's about Sam" Smith replied

Zodolf's eyes lit up after he heard the name

"Oh how is he it's been ten years since I last saw him." Zodolf asked

"Well we don't know he got betrayed by one of our own and he got pushed into a machine that teleported him somewhere else and we don't know where and the machine gotten destroyed and he could've also be killed." Smith replied

Zodolf's face fell as he heard what could've happened to Sam

"Oh...I see" he said as he took a moment to process

"Here we need you to build this if you can" Smith grabbed the documents from Sarah and slide them to Zodolf

He looked at the documents and he said somethings under his breath and they sounded like equations

"Yeah... Yeah I can do that if it's for my brother." Zodolf said as he took the documents

"Brother?" Sarah asked

"Oh well half brother. My father who is German had married my mother who's American around 2104 and they had me in 08, but my mother didn't like my father and they divorce in 2110 and my father gotten custody of me and I stayed in Germany and my mother moved back to America were she remarried and had Sam. As I turned 18 I had saved enough money to go to America and I found them and she and her husband took me in as well and me and Sam had never been separated ever since until he joined the U.G to go on missions, but I always sent him my super serums for his safety, but even that wasn't enough to help. Enough talk follow me." Zodolf said as he got up from the table and walked to an elevator

They got onto the elevator and Zodolf pushed the basement button and they descen

The doors open to reveal a laboratory full of technology that is the newest to date

"I'll be working on this teleporter it'll probably take a month for it to be completed I need you guys to get some materials for the machine." Zodolf explained

"Alright what do you need" Smith asked

"Well right now nothing for the machine, but I do need food so here you go." Zodolf said as he handed Smith a list

"Really that's it I thought we're going to get precious materials like titanium for the base of the machine or something?" Smith said as he looked at the list of food

"Oh no no no I have all the materials I need I just need food to keep working that's all I need you for." Zodolf said as he was looking at a screen creating a blueprint of the base of the machine

"Alright then we'll go get you food I guess" Smith said as he sounded disappointed of the task that he and Sarah were doing

"Don't worry I send you the money for the food just don't take long I want my cheese puffs." Zodolf said as he started to do a weld with mechanical arms holding a beam

"Alright we're heading out" Smith said as he went to the elevator

Both Sarah and Smith returned to the car and started to drive to the store

"Man I thought we would be doing something cool for the sake of science or something" Smith said as he's still bummed about the task

"But we are Smith we're just feeding the scientist" Sarah said jokingly

"Heh funny let's just get this done and see what else we can do." Smith said

"Don't worry at least he's helping us to save Sam" Sarah said

"Yeah, but it's not what I expected ya know" Smith replied

"Well I don't care as long we save him" Sarah said

"For you and me both" Smith said as he pulled into the parking lot of the store

Back at the Mansion Zodolf is trying to see if he could fit the beam to the base and he looked at his screen and it has a picture of him and Sam holding each other with their parents at the back he sighed as he went back to work on the base
