Chapter 12: Learning The World

Sam woke up on a new day after the visit from McKenzie and he was thinking about the questions he asked in his head over and over again trying to learn why would he asked those he later dropped the questions and headed out to the kitchen were the heeler family is sitting at the table eating breakfast

"Oh hey mate you woke up late" Bandit asked

"Yeah I slept longer than I expected I guess answering questions tired my brain." Sam said as he went to grab a drink

"Well I'm just going to say me and the girls are heading to the store so I'm going to need you to stay in the house." Bandit said as he went to put his plate in the washer

"Don't worry I got no need to go outside I'll be here." Sam said as he took a sip

"Alright we'll be back in a bit" Bandit said as he took the kids plates

The family went to the car and drove off leaving Sam in the house alone and he decided to look around before watching TV

Sam went upstairs and looked at the rooms until he went to a door that he didn't went in before he opened the door and revealed what seems to be an office

The room had different items on the walls and bones in a cabinet and a trunk that he didn't want to look through

"Heh bones that's funny" Sam thought as he kept looking around at the items

"A yoga ball I didn't know dogs can do yoga?" Sam thought as he kicked the ball and rolled across the room

"Bingo a laptop maybe I can learn something from that" Sam said to himself as he went to the laptop

"Enter password great I knew it wouldn't be that easy. Password... Password... let's see Password1." Sam thought as he entered Password1 and got it correct

"Ha upgrade your password Bandit." Sam thought as he search for the browser

"P.I do a scan on this laptop and gather information on this world like event's that took place and how it operates." Sam said out loud

*Okay Sam, Initiating Scan now* the voice said as a hum started

Sam waited for the scan to complete as he looked through the laptop

*Scan complete, This world appears to be just alike our world, but it's in the year 2020* the AI said

"What how is that possible you mean that it's like 2020, but our world is in 2146" Sam said in disbelief

*It appears so the scan doesn't lie Sam* The AI said

"I know I know it's just hard to believe that I'm so far ahead of these dogs." Sam said

"Huh I wonder what's his search history is like?" Sam thought as he went to the history tab on the browser

"OH GOD EWWW WHAT THE HELL IS THAT! WHAT IS THAT DOG DOING TO THE OTHER! UGGGHH I KNOW THERE'S KINKS BUT COME ON BANDIT YOU CAN DO BETTER!" Sam screamed as he closed the tab on the laptop and turned it off

Sam walked away from the laptop in disbelief about what he just saw and walked to the living room and sat on the couch in silence trying to process the things he just saw

Just before Sam turned on the TV he heard the door bell rang

"Oh no who's that" Sam said as he went downstairs to peek at who it is

Sam saw a what seems to be a Chow Chow dog outside the door with a worried look on its face

"Oh great I hope I can do this" Sam thought as he would to try to mimic Bandit's voice

"Uhh who is it" he said through the door

"It's Wendy are you guys alright I heard screaming" The Chow Chow replied

"Oh everything is fine it's just Bluey she and I were just watching.... Umm a movie yeah a scary movie yeah that's it" he said hoping the dog would believe him

"Oh alright I just want to make sure your okay... What movie is it?" The dog questioned

"Oh ummm I didn't pick the movie Bingo did yeah I don't know it's something though" he said

Wendy started to get suspicious about the story and started to put pressure on

"Why aren't you opening the door to talk to me?" The dog asked

"Oh I have a cold and I don't want you to see me like this" Sam answered

"Well I guess you do sound sick, but who did I hear screaming?" The Chow replied

"Oh that was Chilli she got scared" Sam said

"Hmmm right... okay I'll leave you to it then" the Chow said as they started to walk away and then they noticed the car is gone

"Wait...hang on if he said that she screamed but their car is gone." Wendy thought and turned around and rang the bell again

"Now what is it" Sam said

"Your lying Bandit the car is gone meaning Chilli isn't in the house" Wendy said

"Okay you got me there she isn't here" Sam said

"Why are you lying about screaming you know it's best not to lie" Wendy said

"I know I know, but it's best for you to go now I need time alone." Sam said

Wendy stood there knowing that's not normal behavior from Bandit so she waited at the door listening for footsteps

Sam did the same and he thought the dog walked away and started to head back up stairs and he heard something he never would have hear the door being unlocked

Wendy had a spare key from Chilli ever since they were friends and she unlocked the door and opened it to find Sam wide eyed looking at her and she dropped the key in shock.
