Chapter 37: Taking The Role
The room was a dead silence for what seems like an hour after Sam spoke as he was trying to comprehend on what Zodolf said
"Zodolf I know you want to be nice, but I can't take that role that's not my style" Sam said
"But you would be the best fit for it and besides you can control the entire organization it's what you wanted right? Isn't why you join them in the first place?" Zodolf said
"Zodolf...*sigh* that's not the reason I join them" Sam said
"I wanted to explore the universe visit planets that I've never seen before help people on different planets and watch the stars fly past as we hyperdrive past them, but if I'm the leader I miss out on that I wouldn't be able to explore I wouldn't go on missions to help people" Sam continued
"It's not about power it was about the experience I get on missions and exploration and now we've got this technology where we can go further than before faster than light and most importantly able to save your stomach" Sam said which made Zodolf chuckle
"All in all I appreciate the offer, but I don't want it" Sam finished
"Wow I didn't know how'd you feel about it, but how about we both run the organization?" Zodolf said
"What do you mean?" Sam asked
"I mean I can run the place back home and you can still go on missions and explore new areas and still have power as a leader" Zodolf explained
Sam thought as that sounds interesting and he liked it
"Alright let's do it" Sam said
"Alright it's settled then" Zodolf said as he shook hands with Sam
"We can explain them tomorrow about the new leadership" Zodolf said
"Alright I'll be there, now I got a game to play" Sam said as he walked out the door
Sam walked into the girls room and looked around for only to find that they moved somewhere else and which made Sam walk out and into the kitchen where he saw Bandit looking over the balcony
"Hey Bandit you seen the kids I promise them I'd play with them" Sam said
"Oh yeah there down there in the backyard they are playing tag with Smith and Sarah which surprised me on how fast those two are" Bandit said
"*Chuckled* yeah those two are fast... How long have they been at it?" Sam said
"25 minutes it's been going good for me I get to relax for awhile" Bandit said
"Yeah must be nice to relax" Sam said as he watched Smith jump over Bingo
"Oh yeah it's nice... Have you had the time to relax?" Bandit asked
"Oh uh... Huh I guess not I've already been busy with work and stuff" Sam said
"Huh yeah work gets the best of me too especially when you have kids bugging you 24/7" Bandit said
"Yeah... Kids" Sam said as he thought about having kids of his own at one point in time
Smith was running until he noticed Sam appearing over the balcony
"Hey Sam! Why don't you join us!" Smith yelled which knocked Sam out of his thought
"Oh yeah sure I can join I'll be right down!" Sam yelled back and walked downstairs
Sam walked out to the yard and watch Sarah getting taken down by Bluey which made him chuckle to himself
"You find that funny huh?" Sarah said
"A little" Sam said as he approached
"Sam you came!" Bluey said in excitement
"Yeah I'm here I heard you guys are playing tag mind if I join?" Sam said
"Yeah! You can join" she said
"Alright who's it?" Sam asked
"You are" Sarah said as she tapped his foot and got up and started to run away which caused Bluey to scream and run as well
"I'm going to get you for that!" Sam yelled as he started to chase
They played tag for the whole day tiring out the kids and the adults alike and they all went inside to have dinner
"You had fun you two?" Sam asked Bluey and Bingo
"Yeah! That was fun" Bingo said
"Yeah that's for joining us" Bluey said
"Don't mention it I had fun as well especially when I saw Smith trip over that trash can" Sam said
"Hey I didn't see it!" Smith yelled
"*Laughs* alright I'll believe you" Sam said
"Like you did better you fell in the flower bed" Smith said
"Hey I had to get away some how so I though I could jump it, but missed my jump" Sam said
"Yeah I'll believe you" Smith said mockingly
"Alright you're pushing it" Sam said
The group when to the table and sat down and they had spaghetti for dinner and they finished their meals and they went to bed
The next morning Sam woke up with a message on his device that Zodolf gave him
"Hey the meeting is today are you coming?" The message said
"Yeah give me a moment" Sam replied to the message and got up and took a shower and then when back to his room and opened the portal and walked inside it
Sam found himself in front of a door and he opened it and saw a stage with Zodolf on it with a group of people say below the stage
Zodolf waved Sam to come up on stage and which Sam obliged and walked up and stood next to him and then he picked up a microphone
"Ladies and gentlemen I gather you today to announce our new leadership of the organization... Here next to me is my brother Sam and he's a captain of a war vessel that serves us" Zodolf said as the group of people clapped
"We together are going to be the new leadership that this organization badly needs, but he's not staying here forever he'll be out and about, but he'll have much as authority as me" Zodolf continued as people whispered in the crowd
"Hope you accept this new leadership into your arms as it will take you into theirs new rules in the building will start next week hope you will enjoy them meeting dismissed" Zodolf said as everyone clapped and then left the room leaving stragglers and Zodolf and Sam in the room
"Well brother what do you think about this?" Zodolf said
"Well I call this a new beginning" Sam said
