Chapter 25: Loose End

There's a man walking back and forth in a office what seems to be waiting for something

"Sir I have some bad news about the team we sent." Another man walked into the room

"What is it?" The Man said as he sat on his chair

"The team didn't respond to their status in 8 hours and we assume the worst happened to them" the other man said

The Man slammed his hand on the desk in anger as he knew this might happen

"Assemble the N.E.T we need to act now before we lose him and tell the scientists to work faster." The Man told the other

"Yes sir right away" the other side as he walked out the door

"Can't believe I let this baboon take charge of a team" The Man said as he has his hand on his forehead

"Now I gotta to act now before this plan goes awry" The Man said as he looked at a screen that seems to be a plan of one of the vessels and troop count for the vessel

*Later at Zodolf's mansion*

Zodolf heard something outside and went to the door and opened it which he didn't see anyone out there until a bolt flies pass his head and he jumped back inside and closed the door and bolts are going through the door which made Zodolf run to his elevator and men with rifles crash through the door and continue shooting at him as the elevator closes

Zodolf catched his breath and looked behind him to see a hole on the elevator wall and which made him knew they were here to kill him he arrived at his floor and cut the power to the elevator and rushed to his computer and moved files to a drive and as it does that he started the machine and placed in the coordinates of the last teleport

He can hear footsteps coming from the staircase and he hurries and grabbed a pistol like device and grabbed some gear and the drive and activated something on the computer and dove into the portal and the machine powered off and the men barged through the door and looked for Zodolf

"He's not here!" One of the Sargent's team said

"Look around maybe we can find him" the Sargent said as he went to the computer

The group looked around and found nothing, tools and maintenance bots and one of the Sargent's face fell as he sees what's on the computer

"Run!" The Sargent said as they all started to run up the stairs

"What's taking them so long?" An officer said as he was there for look out and make sure Zodolf didn't escape

Then as he said that the mansion started to blow up which made the officer to turn away from the light it produced and he turned back to see the whole place was in flames

He sees a man crawling out of the flames and he rushed over to him

"Sir did you eliminated the target" the officer said

"No he was gone" the words of the man was his last as he dies due to his injuries

"The boss isn't going to like this" the officer said as he closed the eyes of the dead man

"What!" The Man said on the phone

"Sir he escaped and his mansion blew up" The voice said on the phone

"*Sigh* come back we can't get involved with house fire we don't need the police down or back" The Man said as he hung up the phone

"Damnit!" The Man said as he trashed his desk as he needed Zodolf dead

The Man looked out the window to see a machine being built by scientists and builders alike and he sees the vessels in the back ready for department

"If I have to send one I'll do it just to kill them" The Man spoke to himself

*In the blueyverse*

Zodolf fell on the ground and he looked up to see himself all together and looked at the device he made

"Alright let's see if this works" he said to himself as he started to punch in coordinates to his backyard

He aimed the device to a tree and a portal opened and he picked up a stick and stuck it in and pulled it out and it was fine

"Alright it seems to work let's go" he said as he walked through the portal

He came out of the others side to see his mansion up in blaze with firefighters trying to put it out he turned back and went through the portal again and found himself back where he was before

"It works!" He said while laughing

"Alright I need to find and warn the others about what happened" he said as he looked to see footprints of Smith and Sarah and he started to follow them
