Chapter 11. Plan

After the incident, Rachel is assaulted by guilt both for causing the accident and for running away without doing anything, and it is for this very reason that she decides to make an anonymous call saying about the accident, and then go back to the dump and wait for Dio Brando with whom she was supposed to meet the same night. At sunset, the figure of Dio appears in all its glory, and is about to speak to Rachel.

"Tell me, was I right about your best friend?"

After a moment of hesitation and not to arouse suspicion, Rachel replies:

"Yes, apparently I had become their spare wheel and that's why I left."

"It's funny to hear about a spare tire when you were in the truck with them."

"How did you know?"

"Almost everyone in town was talking about it as I was catching up with you, about an accident and about a person who seemed to be you running away from there. In any case, the fact that you are here already earns you points, but be careful because I keep an eye on you, and if you try to fool me you will regret what you did."

"Listen, I need you to do me a favor."

"You have a lot of nerve asking me to do you a favor, knowing that I'm in charge here."

"You don't think I understand, but this is an important issue, so listen to me."

"If I were another person I would have opened a hole in your belly without any hesitation, but given your stand and your strength I want to listen to you, but watch out for the words you will utter."

"I'd like you to kidnap Nathan Prescott while I take care of Mark Jefferson. The place where you are to take them is the Prescotts' cabin, underneath is a shelter where both of them will be put. If you want to ask me why I'm going to kidnap these two people, it's because they're the ones who kidnapped and killed me, and I want to tie up loose ends with both of them."

"If I want to keep her quiet I'll go along with it, after all it's about kidnapping a little boy. Plus I'll see if I can stop by the hospital to find Max, just to put pressure on her for tomorrow," Dio thinks, then says to Rachel:

"All right, but remember this is the first and last favor I'll do for you, keep that in mind. One last thing: take it back." *throws cell phone at her*

"How did you get my cell phone?"

"Of course I found it in the Dark Room, where else could I have hidden if not there when I left."

"It's all recorded there, plus how did you know it was there?"

"When I returned the second time to the barn, I noticed the padlock indicating there was something hidden, so I smashed the padlock and guessed the code thanks to the fact that the buttons indicating the code were worn out. For the cameras I used my power, destroying them and making sure they didn't notice me. Now are we done with these idiotic questions? I'd like to kidnap this kid before daylight."
