Chapter 27. Tornado Vs The World

Dio Brando recovers within not even a minute of the attack he suffered, but he is furious about what happened and instantly reaches the dump where he notices that everyone except Max, Chloe, and Rachel are gone.

"Where did everyone go?"

"What, aren't the three of us enough for you?"

"You're being funny Rachel, but now I'm going to make you pay for the insult I've suffered, and when I kill you I'm going to destroy the town leaving only rubble."

"You just have to try." *Rachel turns to Max and Chloe* "Do not intervene for any reason, only when I give you a signal will you use that thing."

"Agreed," Max and Chloe say.

Dio and Rachel summon their stands, which only Max can see while Chloe cannot. The clash begins and The World immediately starts off with a flurry of punches, but Tornado thanks to his agility manages to dodge almost all of them and use his speed to hit The World with a series of very fast and powerful kicks and punches. Dio is in trouble.

"Damn, I underestimated you. For a rookie you're mastering your stand pretty well, but you're still immature about the real power behind it."

"I may be immature, but I'm kicking your ass, and you're losing a lot of blood."

"You asked for it, I'll have to use my special technique already now, and I can assure you that you won't have a chance after I use it."

"Rachel, don't let him use whatever he's planning to use, I have a bad feeling about this."

"You can rest assured Max, whatever technique it is I will be able to block it."

"That's where you're wrong, because you won't even see it coming. THE WORLD!"

Dio freezes time, and he approaches Rachel ready to deliver the killing blow he had already dealt to Kakyoin some time ago, but something does not go as planned: Tornado materializes and just before the punch spreads his arms across Rachel's belly blocking the blow, but still minimally damaging her.

"Time will now resume."

The blow sustained brings Rachel to her knees, spitting blood.

"RACHEL!" Shouts Chloe, who approaches her to inquire about her condition.

"Don't come any closer, I'm fine."

"But..."

"Stay close to Max."

"Your stand has protected you, no one until now has been able to intercept such a blow. You are special I must admit, and I'm sorry to have to kill you knowing how useful you would have been to me."

"You should come down from your pedestal, since you haven't won yet. Plus I realized what's behind your power: you can freeze time."

"Incredible, you got there right after just one attack, well I congratulate you for getting there so soon."

"I can also do a lot more, and now you'll see."

Rachel summons her stand, which instead of attacking Dio blows away the cloth that was covering the projector, and that's when Rachel shouts:

"NOW!"

Max and Chloe turn on the projector, whose light overwhelms Dio, who is writhing in pain.

"AAAAAAHHHHHHH! IT BURNS!"

"You said in the hospital that you wouldn't kill us because you wanted to have fun, maybe you should have overestimated yourself less and acted more directly." Says Max

"I will...not...allow...you...to WIN IT!"

Dio with his last act of strength throws three knives at the projector succeeding in destroying it, but Max comes back in time, only he starts to bleed from his nose and his arm starts to hurt more and more.

"Don't..."

"Rachel, block hi..."

Not even time to finish the sentence that Dio immediately throws the 3 knives, but Max stands with her back to the projector being wounded by one of the three knives, while the other two damage the projector but without destroying it.

"It's time. THE WORLD, STOP TIME!"

Dio again succeeds in stopping time, but instead of attacking Rachel goes straight for the projector by throwing it away, and she drinks some of Max's blood from the wound, managing to recover from her injuries, though not completely.

"Time will now resume."

Max barely stands, and is supported by Chloe.

"What happened Max?!" Chloe asks.

"I'm afraid he drank some of my blood from the wound, I feel weak. I'm afraid I can't manipulate time any more than that, and now without the projector we have only Rachel."

"You have already done enough, if necessary I will help Rachel, you instead try to recover and do not use your power any further."

"Thank you Chloe!"

Meanwhile, Dio and Rachel resume talking

"As you see your tricks didn't kill me, and I am back in strength again thanks to Max's blood. Now I can stop time for seven seconds and no longer five, so victory is mine."

"You can stop it for twenty seconds for all I care, you won't win."

The fight resumes and The World begins to understand how Tornado works, anticipating his blows and returning them all, and with one of his punches he breaks two of Rachel's ribs.

"Damn *cough* the situation has turned around."

"That's right, it only took me a short time to recover, and now you're measuring the gap between you and me."

"You may be stronger than me physically, but unlike you I can harness my power in different ways."

Tornado begins to create small, concentrated balls of air, which he throws at high speed at The World, which although parried are sent back at Dio, who is wounded in the head. Taking advantage of the moment of confusion Rachel attempts a close-range attack, but Dio is not fooled and dodges the blow, only to wound her in the leg with one of his knives, leaving her on her knees.

"Damn, that hurts."

"I told you that experience counts a lot, and even though you wounded me you were not able to use your advantage. You're good, but not that good."

"You won't win as long as I have air in my lungs."

"Then I will have to rip them out of your body, or maybe drown you until you run out of breath, you decide how to die."

"I WON'T LET YOU KILL HER!" *BANG*

"Chloe, stop it! I'm taking care of it *cough*, go away."

"I don't want to lose you *sigh* a second time, even if I have to die I will save you" Chloe says in a broken voice

"Ohhh how tender you are, plus congrats on catching me in the head, TOO BAD THAT UNLIKE YOU I WON'T DIE!"

Dio hits Chloe in the chest with his knife, leaving her lifeless, while Rachel looks at Chloe with tear-filled eyes and a look full of rage, and so she gets up from the ground.

"Can you still stand with all those wounds? Remarkable. I'm fed up now, though, so it's only fair to end the match now. DIE RACHEL!"

Dio stabs Rachel with The World, then exclaims:

"I won."
