The next day

Max and Chloe return to Arcadia Bay, happy for their wonderful vacation together but thoughtful about what the future might hold. This is noticed by Joyce and David, who over dinner with Chloe try to ask her if something is wrong.

"You're quieter than usual Chloe, are you okay?" Joyce asks.

"Yes, Mom."

"Are you sure? If you need to talk to us about something, don't have any problems." Says David

Chloe remains silent for a few minutes and then begins to speak.

"Max got a job offer for an art gallery in New York."

"That's a great news, why are you so thoughtful then?"

"She asked me to follow her, and I have many doubts since it is an important step in my life. If she had asked me a year ago I would have accepted without any doubt, but now I don't know."

"Chloe listen, I'm really happy that you've finally got your head on straight and made some new friends, but I've noticed that you don't like working at Two Whales and that you would like something more from your life."

"I work there to help you, and I would hate to leave now that I'm doing well with you."

"And we're happy about that, but that doesn't mean you should cancel yourself out by staying here and doing a job you don't like. Plus even if you were to leave it doesn't mean we won't see each other again."

"Joyce's right, we can come to New York or you can come to Arcadia Bay for vacation, we can talk by phone and much more. You have 20 years and so many opportunities ahead of you, try to think about yourself and what you want as well without thinking that this is selfish, because it is not."

"It was good for me to talk about it, you have helped me in no small way in my choice, thank you."

Chloe goes up to the room and contacts Max

"Hey Max."

"Hey Chloe."

"Tomorrow morning at 10:00 do you want to meet me near the junkyard? I'll let you know there what I've decided."

"Wouldn't it be easier to tell me now?"

"Too bad then all the suspense would be missing, better to keep you on your toes."

"You're always the same."

"That's why you like me."

"You're right AHAHAH, see you tomorrow."

June 23, 10:00 a.m.

"Here I am Max."

"Hey Chloe."

"Look Max, I know this sounds anything but romantic, however, there is a reason why I chose to meet here instead of somewhere else."

"I already understood the reason when you told me to meet you here."

"This dump brings with it good but also painful memories, like when we came here to test your power, or even when I repaired the Pick-Up when I decided at first to leave town together with Rachel. In this place Rachel died twice: once because of Nathan and Jefferson, and once because of Dio, and thinking about it still hurts. The first time I came there this dump meant a new beginning for me, and I'm back there today because today is the end of that journey that began four years ago-I'm going with you to New York Max."

"I know it seems obvious to ask, but are you sure about your choice?"

"Hella sure. When you asked me in Portland I was doubtful because I wasn't sure what I would find away from here, since I have, for better or worse, found the stability I lacked in this city. Talking with Mom and David I realized that even leaving the city I will still always have their support, plus I wouldn't be able to be away from you again after we found each other. We deserve to be happy, and this is the right opportunity to start a new life."

"I am happy that we will face this new path together, I am a little scared but with you I feel everything will be great. I love you Chloe."

"I love you too Max."

Max and Chloe kiss and then hug each other touched knowing they would be there for each other.
