Chloe remains at Rachel's bedside weeping over her disappearance, with Max trying to be close to her by hugging her so that she does not feel alone in her time of greatest need. At one point, however, Max feels Dio's presence, albeit faintly, and consequently asks Chloe for the gun to make sure he is really dead. After several minutes of walking, Max is confronted with a gruesome scene: Dio is left without limbs, his face covered in blood and his bones hanging out from his body on the train tracks.

*anf anf* "Long time no see Max. As you can see I am in such a bad shape that I cannot make a single movement. If you have to finish your friend's work, go ahead and do it, I can't even defend myself anymore."

"I brought my gun because I was afraid you might hurt me again, but seeing you like this you are nothing but pitiful."

"How shameful. Me the mighty Dio Brando, an ultracentenarian being capable of surviving even without a head, reduced to this state by a bunch of little girls."

"Unlike you we had..."

"If you dare say the power of friendship..."

"...A plan. We unlike you had a plan, while you did nothing but stand up as almighty because you thought you had already won; instead, we fought until the end."

"What pathetic talk, you human beings just make me laugh. I lost only because that bitch Rachel got mad, otherwise none of you would have survived; in fact, your projector plan *anf anf* went up in smoke after a very short time."

"Rachel ended up dead, the confrontation reduced her badly but at least she died peacefully, how do you want to die instead? Full of anger and ego that did nothing but reduce you to a vegetable?"

"..."

"Why don't you answer? Don't you know what to say?"

"I want you to do something for me."

"Even in this state, you dare give orders?"

"I want to see the sun rise. I know very well that I will die after seeing it, but at this point I'd rather see something I haven't seen in over a hundred years; therefore, I need you to move me off the tracks and into position."

"If there had been Chloe in my place, she would have shot you without hesitation, and with good reason."

Max moves Dio off the tracks and puts him in the position where the sun will rise.

"Despite everything you went along with me."

"I wouldn't have left you there anyway, since if a train had gone by you would have risked an accident."

"You are a bad liar, you wouldn't have left me there like that anyway. On this you are similar to my half-brother Jonathan."

"The way you talk about him, he seemed to be a morally better person than you."

"He was, and I hated that nice guy side of him. All I had to do was apologize to him and be a good boy for a while even after I killed his dog and stole a kiss from his beloved."

"You are horrible."

"I may be horrible, but unlike your dear photography professor I never pretended to be what I was not. I enjoyed being bad until the end, and even now I don't regret what I did AHAHAH *cough cough*"

"I have no more words to describe you right now."

"In fact I want you to shut the fuck up, and let me die here!"

Max does not let it be repeated twice, and returns to Chloe, leaving Dio Brando there to wait for the sun, and consequently for death.

6:00 a.m.

"Here is the sunrise, I must admit I missed seeing it a little, and now it will be the last thing I see before I die. I...will I die? Is this the epilogue of Dio Brando?!"

Dio does not have time to process further that as soon as the sun begins to rise, his body begins to burn, leaving nothing but ashes of him.
