After getting into the car, Max and Chloe hold hands and smile at each other looking intensely at each other, but the intimate moment is broken by a call from Warren.
"Hey Warren, are you okay?"
"I can tell he misses you already," Chloe says.
"Um, not really: Kate is missing."
"Warren, please tell me this is a bad joke."
"I would never joke about something like that, I'm dead serious. The nurse who was taking care of Kate is panicking, plus even trying to call her, she's not answering, as if her cell phone is underground. Max are you still there?"
"Yes, I'm there. I have the speakerphone so Chloe and David can listen too. We'll try to help with the search, I just hope nothing has happened to her."
"Alright, let us know as soon as you know anything."
"Okay." *stops the call and tries to call Kate* "SHIT, NO ANSWER!"
"Max, take deep breaths and don't panic, or else we risk just playing into that devil's hands."
"Chloe's right, I'll stop the car so you can get out and breathe a little."
Max, Chloe and David get out of the car, with the former trying again to call Kate, and this time the phone rings, and the call is accepted.
"KATE?!"
"I'm sorry but I'm not Kate, however, I can confirm that I didn't hurt her."
"Dio, you bastard, if you ever laid a hand on Kate, I swear I will make you regret being born."
"Do I need to remind you who has the upper hand? Keep your words at bay, because I might not kill her, but I may have fun with her in ways that a religious woman would not appreciate."
"I beg you, don't hurt her. You just want me, no need to involve other innocents. Tell me where you are and I will come instantly."
"Easy Max, don't you know that haste is bad advice? The place I want you to come to is the dump tonight at 8 p.m. There we'll talk a bit and then you'll tell me your choice."
"All right," Max says in a low voice.
"Since I don't want to be too mean, I'll let you talk to Kate for a few minutes."
Dio puts the cell phone to Kate's ear.
"M...Max?"
"Hey Kate, it's me Max. Listen to me, in a little while we'll come and get you and fix this situation, I won't let them hurt you."
"I--I'm scared. I ended up back in the room Nathan took me to, and this individual scares me to death. I don't *sigh* want to die!"
"I swear to you Kate, I will do everything in my power to save you, I promise."
"I love you Max."
Dio picks up the cell phone again, and suddenly Nathan shouts:
"MAX, WE'RE UNDER THE SHED! WE'RE UNDER THE SHED!"
"SHUT UP!" Dio hits Nathan with a kick, knocking him unconscious.
"Why is Nathan there?"
"It's none of your business, just try to make a bold move and I'll kill Kate, so play nice." *Dio hangs up the call*
Max remains speechless for at least a minute, then says:
"David..."
"Yes Max?"
"How long do you think it takes to fit these UV lamps inside a projector?"
"I think it takes at least an afternoon, luckily I keep one in the garage."
"Do you also have a UV amplifier with you?"
"Yes-I understand what you're trying to tell me."
"Chloe and I will try to help you with the assembly, I want that monster to burn in the fires of hell thanks to these lamps."
"Well said Max, I am extra sure that all three of us together will succeed."
"Let's go home." Says Max in a firm tone
