In moments of haste and utter haste,
When words escape and tempers flare,
And actions scream in wild despair,
I can explain, I can attest.
For when we falter, and mistakes we make,
And trust is broken in the wake,
Our only solace is to speak,
And gently plead our case.
I can explain, my love, I swear,
The motive pure, the heart sincere,
The mind awash with thoughts so clear,
That momentary madness, but a scare.
So do not judge, and do not fret,
The truth will surface, I promise yet,
For I can explain, and make amends,
And love will bloom, until the end.
