Been so long, since you were gone
I thought I could move on
But every night, I lie awake
Wondering if it's a mistake
It's been weeks, it's been months
And still I feel the punch
Of you leaving, of you walking
Of you talking and me not talking
The time goes by, so slow and still
I can't help but feel the chill
Of the memories, they flood my mind
Of all the nights, we left behind
I try to find solace in other things
But my heart still badly stings
For the love that once was strong
That's been gone for way too long
So now I sit, and write this rhyme
Hoping that with each new line
I can let go of what's been lost
And find a way to bear the cost
Of moving on from what's been done
And starting new with the rising sun
For though it's been so long since you've been here
I still have so much left to fear.
