Naruto's POV- a week later

Feudal Lords are overrated. Spoiled, rich, carefree fools who don't understand the real world- they can argue over trivial things like discussing names of awards in the middle of a riot, I bet. But as foolish as they are, they are political leaders and symbols to the five great nations.

And here I am, sitting in the main meeting room of the Hokage building in front of the Land of Fire's feudal lord with Lady Tsunade, Shizune, and also Shikaku- he's the hokage's advisor, after all. I'm not sure what I have to be here for- politics aren't my thing. We're also here with Sand Council members- here today to not only discuss the alliance, but also announce Tsunade as the Fifth Hokage.

"Oh- Princess Tsunade as Fifth Hokage? Oh, that's just fab." The feudal lord muses, flapping himself with his ridiculous fan. "I approve."

Tsunade bows her head at him. "Thank you, Fire Daimyo." She says. Then she turns to the Sand Council members, taking a deep breath.

"Alright- shall we begin then?" She asks, and they stare back at her, nodding. "First matter at hand- has the Sand found a candidate for position of Kazekage?"

One of the Sand council members, ironically Baki, straightens a bit. "We have. Gaara- one of my students- has applied for the position of Kazekage. Of course, he's a bit young, so we are putting him through tests and seeing how he would react in different situations before we approve of him."

I smirked, obviously already knowing this would happen. Not only is Gaara good Kazekage quality, but his father was also the Fourth Kazekage. Being the fifth will allow Gaara to make his own path and change his reputation as the One-tailed monster his father had put on him. I'm glad the Sand council are actually going to consider Gaara as Kazekage- definitely better than the situation in the Leaf. How ironic- both me and him had tailed beasts sealed inside us by our fathers- who were both ironically the fourth kages of their villages. Though I must admit my father probably had better intentions than his. Gaara's father was merely using him as a weapon. I wonder how it must feel- to have his father- a man he's probably hated all his life- get killed by Orochimaru. And have Orochimaru impersonate him. It must've been unnerving. And slightly satisfying.

"Good. Then onto the alliance." Tsunade says, nodding.

For this part, I tune out- (not like I wasn't already)- no use listening to something I don't want to hear. It's mostly boring stuff anyway- basic rules, like backing each other up in a war, asking for help when needed, and opening more trade routes.

I let my mind drift. To the rest of team 7. Mostly to Sasuke. That's right- we promised to have dinner together at Ichiraku tonight, despite Sasuke's protesting. It was my turn to choose where to eat anyway, but he seems to think ramen isn't very healthy.

Flashback!

"How is ramen not healthy?" I had retorted the other day, when I was eating instant ramen in the apartment. It seems that Sasuke's staying at my apartment for now. Whether it's permanent or not, I don't know- but he's even brought his clothes and stuff here.

Sasuke furrows his eyebrows, wrinkling his nose as he looks at my instant ramen. "You can't eat that on days end. It has little to no nutritious value." He argues.

I finish slurp down the rest of the soup, yeeting the cup at the trash can on the other side of the room. It lands inside with a thunk.

"It does too have nutritious value! The stuff at Ichiraku's has meat, and vegetables, and not only that, ramen tastes really good!"
