I'm still holding on to everything that's dead and gone. I don't wanna say goodbye cuz this one means forever.

"It's a murder?"

"Yes. There are marks of violence in his body. Faint marks of fingers in his neck too." Mr Lee replied.

"I checked his call log. He has called jaehyun multiple times before his phone switched off." Sunghoon spoke up.

"I just saw it today morning. This wouldn't have happened if i was to attend his calls right?" Jaehyun hung his head low. His eyes watered thinking about it.

"What ddi you do that day?" Mr Lee questioned.

"That morning we went in search for him at his house. But it was empty. So we thought he'd have already left for work. It was stupid of us to think that." Jaehyun sighed.

He continued"since we didn't have any work back at the office, we decided to hamg out in the amusement park" he completed.

"We?" Mr Lee raised his brows.

"Me and Hyejin." He replied.

"Simply put, you both went on a date.
Wait was it the night donghyuck went out after the fight?" Mr Lee continued with the questioning.

"No. It was the day after. That night I dropped Hyejin off at her home and I too straight up went to my house. He called me after midnight I guess, and I had kept my phone on silent." Jaehyun closed his eyes tightly inhaling a shaky breath.

"So he went missing the same day after midnight." Mr Lee concluded nodding his head.

After a minute of silence he spoke again."The special division are the ones who is investigating this case."

"Why not us? We know Donghyuck better than them." Sunghoon frowned.

"Yeah. So they might come to our home or office to ask more about him since he has no other family members. It feels like they've caught onto something."

"About the killer?" Sunghoon asked.

"Yes. Finding the killer is our main priority. So let's put our pride aside and completely help them with this investigation." Jaehyun and sunghoon nodded along.

Hyejin was in a daze. Her mind somewhere else. Shaking all the thoughts off, she decided to go to the nearby cafe to free her mind.

Hyejin chose the window seat and ordered a black coffee. The cafe packed with people indulged in their own incessant chatter. She looked out at the busy city of Seoul. Somehow it calmed her.

Soon enough the owner of the cafe Karina came towards her with the coffee. Keeping the cup in front of her, Karina sat across Hyejin.

"I heard about donghyuck." She striked up a conversation after a long moment of contemplation.

Hyejin didn't reply she just looked down at her coffee. Her mind bringing back to the image of Donghyuck's lifeless body.

"Most day he comes here. He said he like the muffins that I make." She smiled at the memories.

"You know, I liked him. I mean more than as a friend." Karina pursued her lips.

The sudden revelation surprised Hyejin. "Did you tell him?" She asked.

Karina nodded. "I did. But he said that he already likes someone else."

"He likes someone? He never told me." Hyejin frowned.

"That's because the person he like was you." Karina replied.

"Me?" Hyejin looked down at her hands.

"He never told me that. But i could understand it. The way her looks at you with so much adoration in his eyes. How he holds your hands like you're fragile. His endearing smile towards you. It was obvious Hyejin.
He never told you because he thought it would ruin your friendship and mostly because you already had a boyfriend." Karina smiled at her.

"Karinaaa" someone shouted from behind her.

"Coming" She shouted back.

Turning her head to look at Hyejin she spoke. "That's my cue to leave. See you."

Hyejin was once again left alone thinking about what Karina said. She grabbed her hair sobbing. Guess she would never get over this any soon.
