The next week

Donghyuck and Hyejin was playing games and it was a mess. Yes it is not the time to play games but they need some rest too.

"You cheater! That's not fair at all"
Hyejin was practically shouting her lungs out

"Oh come on honey. admit you suck at these" donghyuck said with a smug look all over his face.

"Ugh. Shit up asshat. You're clearly cheating!" Hyejin was furious at this point as it was the 12th time she was losing to him.

"Pfft. You loser. I'm genius and do you even think you can beat me? Never!"

"Ofc. Cheaters always find their ways to succes"

"Oh here we go again. Stop being so stubborn and admit that I'm a great player."donghyuck smirked.

"Oh yea. You're a hella player. The playboy." It was now Hyejin's turn to smirk.

"Wtf?! Not that player you dumbshit."
Donghyuck's face and ears turned red.

"Damn you look like tomato." Hyejin giggled.

"Shut up." Donghyuck turned away from her

Donghyuck's phone buzzed with an incoming call. It was mark.

"Hey, no time to play around. there's another one."

Donghyuck was confused "another what?"

"Murder you idiot" and it was loud enough for Hyejin to hear as her eyes widened.

"Ohmygod!. It's only been a week. What the hell is going on?!"

"I don't know but you gotta come here and check. I've sent you the address."

"Okay. I'll be there soon." He ended his called and turned around to find Hyejin nowhere.

"Hyejin?"

"Yeah I'm here" she replied from the bathroom. She came back with tear filled eyes. " When will this ever end? So many people are dying. It's 14th now."

Hyejin started sobbing incontrollably. Donghyuck hugged her and patted her head trying hus best provide some comfort.

"Hey it's okay we'll find him. It's only a matter of time."

Hyejin nodded her head even though she wasn't sure about it.

"Let's go now yeah?"

"Yeah"

It was a thirty minute drive to the address given by mark. As soon as they reached, they hurriedly got out of the car. Hyejin looked around inspecting the place.

"A church?"

"Yeah i guess. Let's go in"
Nodding his head he made his way towards the church. The body of a male was on the ground, short and fat, crucified as usual.

"His name is Kiho. Age 20 years old. We've informed the family and they are on their way."

As soon as the victim's family arrived Jaehyun started interrogating them.

"When did he go missing?"

"It was the day before. He said he had some party with friends and will be back soon but-" his father shrugged.

"Hmm. Why didn't you report him missing that time itself?"

"We could care less. He's just a garbage for our family. All he does is eat and eat. Ugh. Thank god now he's gone." His mother spoke disgusted.

"Wow. He is your son right?" Jaehyun asked surprised.

"Well unfortunately. Now if you'll excuse us we have bigger things to deal with."

"Bigger things my ass" jaehyun clicked his tongue annoyed by the behaviour of the parents.

The family made their way towards their car and drove off.

"Wow. Such a nice parents he got there" mark said and rolled his eyes.

Time skip

It was night and donghyuck decided to stay over at Hyejin's house. They was huddled up in her bed with all the files of this case with them. They was wracking their brains for any clues.

"There must be something that we are missing" hyejin said as her eyes furrowed.

"Like what?" Donghyuck stared at her confused.

"I don't know. It might be anything. Check if there is any relation between the victims."

Donghyuck reached out for the files that contained the information about the victims.

"Nope. I guess the killer chooses randomly."

Hyejin's shoulder dropped. She wished she could save the next person he targets. She started looking through the pictures of the murder scenes and bodies. After a minute of searching she found something.

"Look here, there's a candle in every scene. Why didn't we notice this before?"

"That's right. That might be because it was just a normal candle. It could be a coincidence too. How about we go check those places again now?"

Hyejin contemplated about it "Uhm you sure? It's past midnight."

"Yeah. Let's try to find something. Just anything might help us now."

"Okay"

They drove toward the church which was the last murder scene hoping to find anything that will help them with the case.
