Next day at the office:
"What's the case you're working on?" Jaehyun asked Hyejin.
"It's some embezzlement of funds. Why?"
"Nothing" jaehyun shrugged.
"I've got a stupid theft case" sunghoon sighed.
"By the way, donghyuck's not here." Jaehyun said.
"Hangover i guess."Hyejin dialled his number only to find it was still switched off.
"Geez. What's this knucklehead doing" she got up from her seat.
"I'll just go to his home or else he'll sleep the whole day." Hyejin walked out.
"Wait I'm coming too" Jaehyun jogged behind.
Upon finding that he was left alone, sunghoon sighed for the nth time. Harshly typing away in his computer, he yawned "It's going to be a long day".
~
After reaching Donghyuck's home. Hyejin rang the bell and knocked several times. "Did he go out already?" She furrowed her brows.
"Do you know his password to enter?" Jaehyun asked.
Deciding to give it a try she typed the password and entered his home. Scanning around, she found it empty.
"I guess he left." Jaehyun spoke up.
"Let's go for a coffee since we're out already." Hyejin said looking around one last time before leaving his house.
~
The bell of the coffee shop chimed indicating their arrival as Hyejin pushed open the door.
They was welcomed to the smell of freshly prepared coffee. Hyejin closed her eyes inhaling the scent. "I could live here forever smelling this." She sighed contently.
Jaehyun grinned cheekily.
"I guess you've got something up your sleeve" hyejin quirked her brows.
"Nothing." Jaehyun shrugged and smiled innocently at her.
"I swear Jae, if you mess up again I ain't forgiving you." Hyejin deadpanned.
"Goodness calm down. I didn't even do anything." he held up his hands defensively.
"You better not" she turned her head at the waiter who brought their coffee.
Taking a sip and savouring every drop she spoke up "there's two things I can't give up on".
"One is coffee" she continued.
"Other one is me" jaehyun completed.
"Nope. Coffee" she had a wide grin plastered on her face as if she achieved something.
"That's not fair." Jaehyun pouted and crossed his hands.
"Stop being so childish. We have to go back so drink up." Hyejin replied fighting a smile at his cuteness.
~
Hyejin was looking out enjoying the scenery during the drive back. Jaehyun often stole glances at her.
"What is it? Spill" hyejin spoke turning to look at Jaehyun.
"Well, since we don't have much to do at the office-"
"We have" hyejin cut him off.
"Oh come on you're no fun. Let's go to an amusement park." Jaehyun side eyed her looking for a reaction.
"Fine." She replied.
Jaehyun's eyes widened at her response as he never thought she'd agree that easily.
After entering the park they bought themselves a matching hairband and walked hand in hand.
Upon walking he was met with a kid bullying others. He walked hastily towards them. Hyejin could barely process what was happening before they was at each others throats.
"Who gave you the rights to bully others?" Jaehyun shouted at his face.
"Why? does it hurt you?" The boy replied smirking.
Jaehyun inhaled a deep breath calming himself.
"Do you know who my father is?" The boy asked his smirk widening.
"Why? Didn't your mom tell you?" Jaehyun scoffed.
At that his smirk faltered and he stomped away in anger muttering curses.
"Damn that was cool" hyejin gawked at him.
"Hah. Gotta put them in their places." Jaehyun flapped his non existent long hair.
~
They returned back to the office to pick their things up and head home. Upon entering they was met with sunghoon dozing off.
"Heyy" Jaehyun called him.
"Where did you both go?" Sunghoon questioned.
"Amusement park." Hyejin replied.
"Y'all went without me? It was lonely here." Sunghoon pouted.
"Lonely? Didn't donghyuck come?" Hyejin furrowed her brows.
"Nope. I thought he'd be with you." Sunghoon replied.
Hyejin took her phone out calling him. "His phone is still switched off. That's unlike him." Hyejin racked her brain for any explanation for it.
Mr Lee suddenly barged in panting. "Guys Donghyuck is missing"
