Everyone was in their own world of thoughts when Mr. Lee barged into the office panting.
"Guys, we got a witness" mr Lee spoke out of breath.
"Really? Why now?" A confused Donghyuck asked.
"I don't know if it's a prank but let's give it a try. We got nothing to lose with that." Mr. Lee replied shrugging his shoulders.
Everyone nodded their head in response.
"By the way, who's good at drawing here?" Mr.Lee quirked one brow looking at his officers.
"I've seen Hyejin drawing and I think she's pretty good at it." Jaehyun replied looking towards Hyejin.
At that Hyejin started boasting about herself.
"I have not said this to you guys but I have won an arts award in a competition during my elementary studies." She proudly spoke looking at Mr Lee.
"That's because no one signed up for the competition." Donghyuck said. Sunghoon beside him snorted hearing that
"This bitch. Always has to ruin the mood." Hyejin was shooting daggers at Donghyuck with her eyes and he in return just gave a sweet smile.
"Jokes apart. We'll have to go now Hyejin. The victims asked for a meet up right now. she said that she saw the killer." Mr Lee told.
Everyones eyes widened hearing that. "Really? I hope it's not a prank then." Donghyuck sighed.
"Let's hope for the best. Gotta go Hyejin." Mr Lee walked out of the office with Hyejin closely following behind.
After reaching the cafe as the witness asked, they booked seats further away from the crowds. They was waiting for the person to arrive when Hyejin's phone blared indicating a call.
"Mr. Lee could you excuse me?"
"Ah yes. Go ahead"
After a minute or so a woman in her 30's arrived at the cafe. She straight up went up to Mr Lee an sat across him.
"Hello madam. You must be the one who called me right?" Mr.Lee questioned at the unknown lady.
"Yes. It was me. I'm sejeong by the way." She politely smiled.
'she looks like a trustworthy person' Mr.Lee thought. "Thanks for helping us ma'am."
"Aah it's nothing." Sejeong waved her hands.
The waiter came to their table to take orders.
"Sir what would you like to have?"
"Do you drink coffee?" Mr Lee asked Sejeong.
"Yes I do"
"Okay 3 cups of coffee please." The waiter left to bring the order.
"3 cups?" Sejeong furrowed her brows.
"Ah there's one more officer who came with me today. She'll be here anytime." Mr Lee clarified.
"Oh I see"
"So what did you see that night?" Mr Lee asked.
"The killer. I saw him. The poor girl who was ran over by the car many times. Just the thought of it makes me sick." Sejeong shuddered.
Mr Lee didn't give any reply indicating her to go on.
"He was short. I couldn't see his face of hair. He wore a mask and cap. But the eyes. I'll never forget it. It was monstrous." Sejeong spoke.
"Monstrous?" Mr Lee questioned.
"Yes. It showed bloodlust, the anger. But something I don't understand is that the killer drew something on the face of the dead victim with his thumbs." Sejeongs thoughts went back to that night to pinpoint what she saw.
"I couldn't clearly see it but it felt like a cross. You know the Christian one. It sounds absurd right?" She sighed.
"No. It actually matches with our theories about the killer." Mr Lee nodded his head.
"Was he a exorcist or something? I don't know." Sejeong crossed her arms.
By that time Hyejin came back and sat beside Mr Lee.
"This is my colleague and officer Hyejin." Mr Lee introduced her to sejeong.
"Hello".Hyejin bowed to the lady sitting across.
"Hello. I'm Sejeong."
The waiter came up with the coffee.
Hyejin was sipping on her drink when she felt a pair of eyes on her. Upon turning her head to look up, she saw the woman staring at her intently.
"Is there anything on my face?" Hyejin asked uncomfortable due to her stare.
"Oh. No no. It's just you're too beautiful to be a police officer" sejeong smiled.
"Ahh. I get that a lot. Thankyou."
"I think I should get going. It's time to pick up my kids from their tuision." Without waiting for a reply sejeong walked out.
"She didn't even drink her coffee" Hyejin looked at the coffee that was left untouched.
"But she told me what she saw. Let's head back to the office now." Mr Lee spoke up.
