Leanne stared at her phone and sighed.

Not much had happened after she had returned back to class - Claire and Caitlin had attempted to make small conversation with her. They became convinced that there seemed to be nothing wrong with Leanne at all after Leanne replied to them normally. By the end of the day, they were more-or-less back to normal.

Both Claire and Caitlin had looked happy to see that Leanne wasn't upset. She wasn't - not anymore - but she hoped that Caitlin would forget about the singing concert. Obviously, she was wrong as she looked at what Caitlin had messaged her on her phone, at home on the couch: So...when are you going to sign up for the concert? You don't want to be last. Just in case you are last on the night. That would be bad.

Leanne really wanted to reply to her and tell her straight up that she didn't want to even be in the concert, but she didn't want to make Claire upset again, so she didn't. But she also really wanted Caitlin to understand.

There was a message from Claire as well: You're okay, aren't you?

Leanne decided to reply back to Claire. I'm fine.

The reply was fast. That's good. What are you doing now?

The usual. Just playing around.

Why? Please don't tell me you're stalking that Polish guy again.

Leanne smiled. The 'Polish guy' that Claire was referring to was actually a guy that went to their school. He was three years older than her. She didn't know what his name was, but the reason why she was so intent on finding out as much as she could about the guy was because Caitlin seemed to have a crush on him. So she'd somehow managed to find his Gmail account. Unfortunately, his username wasn't his real name, so she had no idea who he actually was, and his profile picture didn't help either. It was a picture of Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh. Most of the time when Leanne wanted to find the Polish guy, she often dragged Claire along with her, as she didn't want to go alone. Her constant eagerness to stalk the Polish dude without Caitlin knowing (as Caitlin would've probably yelled at her for stalking her future boyfriend) had really annoyed Claire. It still did.

Leanne typed: Surprisingly, no. Caitlin never talks to him anymore. Maybe's she gotten over him.

As if. Forgive me, but are you going to do the singing?

Lucky Claire wasn't here with Leanne, otherwise she would've probably punched her in the face. Or done worse.

NO WAY. As if I want to sing in front of a huge audience and embarrass myself.

Yeah, but Caitlin...

Well, she's just going to have to get her hopes crushed the hard way.

Leanne, you're not going to do anything stupid, are you?

Leanne leaned back on the couch and thought about it. It was a while before she replied. No. But I have to tell her.

Not now. Later. Can't you see she really wants you to do it?

Yeah, sure.

That's only because Caitlin thought you were still upset. If she didn't think that, she would be pestering you about the concert.

Then what can I do?

Wait. Having patience can do a lot.

Fine. See you later.

Leanne, you're not ignoring me right? Leanne?

Leanne ignored it and decided that she wouldn't reply to Caitlin, because then Caitlin would just answer her back, and possibly - no, certainly - talk about the singing concert, which was a subject that Leanne really didn't need to hear when she was in such an peaceful mood.

Leanne had run into Anna at the end of school, and Anna had given her phone number to her. She decided to text her.

Hello?

Hey. If you're wondering what I'm doing, I'm trying to finish colouring off my phoenix.

You don't have to finish it in one day.

Well, I want to.

Anna really was such a determined person. Leanne was about to reply back when Anna sent another message.

I gotta go, my mum's calling me. Having spaghetti for dinner.

That's nice, Leanne thought. She knew by checking her phone that both Claire and Caitlin were online, but she started to feel sleepy, so she leaned back on the cushions and closed her eyes.

Since Leanne wasn't replying to Caitlin's messages, Caitlin had decided to talk to Claire instead. Claire had warned Caitlin that Leanne was still a little upset and that she should hold off from talking about the singing concert until Leanne was okay again.

Caitlin didn't see what was so wrong, talking about the concert. She thought that Leanne would've been happy to realise that Caitlin thought that she had the potential to sing her heart out to the audience at the singing concert. But maybe she was too upset right now.

Claire seemed distracted as well. She didn't reply to Caitlin's messages as fast as Caitlin replied to hers, so sometimes Caitlin had to send another message to get her attention. She hoped that it wasn't anything worth worrying about.

Finally, Claire had ended the conversation with: Alright, I'm going to go now, if you don't mind. I'll see you tomorrow.

Okay.

Caitlin turned off her phone and walked off dejectedly to her room to do her homework.
