Claire spotted Helina the minute she arrived at school. Since today was Japanese day, they were required to bring a Japanese costume with them and change at school, although Helina apparently decided she would just wear her costume to school. She wore a gold and purple kimono with a matching yellow parasol. Plus her hair was in a bun.
"こんにちは," Claire waved. Helina saw her and waved back.
"おはよう," she replied and smiled.
It was a habit of theirs; whenever they greeted each other it always was in Japanese, since they both took Japanese classes. Today, it was extra appropriate.
"お元気ですか?" Claire asked Helina.
Helina's cheeks were tinged pink from either excitement or embarrassment. "私は元気です. あなたはどう?"
"私はあまりにも良いです," Claire answered.
They chatted together as they walked inside the school grounds about how Japanese day was going to turn out. Surprisingly, Claire found herself looking forward to the day; probably because she'd always had an interest in Japanese culture.
Helina frowned at her. "What are you humming?"
Claire realized she was humming to 千本桜 by Hatsune Miku (the song attached) and immediately stopped. "Sorry, I was playing a beatmap to that song last night so it's kinda stuck in my head."
"Don't be sorry," said Helina. Then she frowned. "What's a beatmap?"
Claire then tried to explain to her about Osu, but the minute she mentioned it, Helina shook her head and said, "I'm not getting it. Cailyn tried to persuade me before and it didn't work."
"Nice to know," Claire chuckled. Sometimes Cailyn and Helina's random fights and feuds amused her terribly.
When they arrived at their homerooms, Claire and Helina bid each other goodbye (in Japanese, obviously) and parted ways. She grinned as she saw Leanne in her taekwondo uniform, along with her black belt that had her name on it.
As for Caitlin, she was wearing simple black clothing. When Claire asked her about her costume, Caitlin simply replied that she didn't have one and she wasn't bothered to wear one. She had been in a slightly off mood ever since she'd confronted her boyfriend Daniel about the kidnapping and all and asked why didn't he tell her, and he simply told her he didn't want to involve her.
Caitlin had been a little angry because either way, she would have been involved, since Brian was her ex-boyfriend. It was just sooner or later.
"What about you?" Leanne asked Claire.
Claire held up her bag. "I have a kimono in here."
"Oh, put it on, please!" Caitlin urged her. She and Leanne kept trying to persuade Claire...until Theresa dragged a very visibly blushing Helina through the doorway.
"Aww..." Leanne immediately ran over to her Bok Choy daughter and hugged her tightly. "You look so pretty!"
Caitlin crushed Helina in a big hug as well. "You are so adorable."
Helina's ears turned red too; something that usually happened to Cailyn when she was embarrassed or angry.
Claire left the commotion over Helina and went to get changed into her dark purple and black kimono. She left her hair as a ponytail and pinned up the loose strands of hair with four bobby pins, two on each side.
When she came back, Claudia, who was also in karate clothes (although she didn't actually learn it), stared at her. "Whoa," was the only thing she said.
