"Okay, I was so sure that Cailyn was going to dress up as Kagamine Rin today," Caitlin said, frowning. She'd been so sure of it - she'd even bet $10 against Yao. Obviously she was wrong, which meant she'd lost a bet for the second time recently.
Since Cailyn dressed up as Rin to sing Electric Angel for the national singing competition, Caitlin was sure she was going to use the costume again for their school's dress up day. But Cailyn turned up as...Caitlin didn't even know.
Well she, Leanne and Claire had made a plan together that they were going to be three Japanese vocaloids - she was Gumi, Leanne was Megurine Luka and Claire was Hatsune Miku. They had made this split second decision when the three of them were attempting to play tennis together. They had gone down to the costume store and luckily, there were three different vocaloid outfits that fit them.
Speaking of tennis: now that was funny. Leanne failed to serve - her serve was simply not strong enough, and somehow, Claire whacked the tennis ball onto Leanne's forehand, making her yell bloody murder for a long while.
By the end, Leanne and Claire had somewhat improved, although the two girls complained about their aching bodies non-stop afterwards. Caitlin had determined that they were going back to practice again one day, making them both groan.
"Well, I didn't," said Helina, who was standing next to Caitlin. She grinned at Caitlin's downcast face. She was dressed in a pretty casual way too like Cailyn. Caitlin wondered if the two girls had even dressed up. "If I were you, I would just run away from Yao if you see her so she can forget about the fact that you owe her money."
"Yeah, I'll do that," Caitlin decided. She stared at Cailyn as the latter approached them. "Who are you?"
Cailyn pouted. "You don't know?"
"Uh...no."
"I'm Ladybug."
"Huh?" Caitlin looked Cailyn up and down. She definitely was not dressing up like a ladybug if that was her intention. "Sorry?"
Cailyn rolled her eyes. "I'm Marinette."
"Who now?"
"She's like the main character from Miraculous Ladybug," Cailyn explained as Claire - who was sporting a blue wig, which was hilarious in Caitlin's opinion - came over.
"Oh, smart choice," Claire complimented her. "You are so much like Marinette: half Chinese, wears two pigtails and is super clumsy."
How come Claire knew what Cailyn was talking about and Caitlin didn't?!
"I'm not that clumsy!" Cailyn blushed.
"You've already proved otherwise."
Cailyn stomped her foot. "Dammit!"
Caitlin still had no idea who Ladybug or Marinette or whatever Cailyn called her was, but she decided to go along with it anyway.
"Helina, who are you?" Claire asked in confusion.
"I'm Alya," she answered.
"Oh," Claire nodded in understanding. How come everyone was understanding this except Caitlin?!
She coughed, grabbing everyone's attention. "Who is Alya?"
"Marinette's bestie," Cailyn flung an arm over Helina's shoulder.
"Just one thing," said Claire. She took off her glasses and put them on Helina's face. She stepped back. "There you go - Marinette and Alya."
Helina beamed. She gave Claire's glasses back to her. "Don't worry, I have my own fake glasses in my bag. I just forgot to put them on. Thanks for reminding me."
