Secret Singing Superstar

Fifty-three ~ ♫♪♫

Caitlin, Leanne and Claire were sitting together and eating their food quite cheerily, while Cailyn and Helina kept arguing back and forth. They were a bit further away because the three girls had scooted away (Helina and Cailyn's arguing irritated them over a while).

Rufina had told them in advance that she was bringing someone new to sit with them, so Caitlin beamed at the new girl as Rufina and Anna led her over to sit with them. She didn't know this girl, but she looked so cute. She reminded her of Helina.

"Hey," she greeted the girl.

"Hi," the girl said shyly. Caitlin didn't know her name, but she knew that she was in Anna's class and that Rufina had become friends with her. Apparently she was Korean. 

"I'm Caitlin," Caitlin introduced herself. "What's your name?"

"Hannah," she replied, blushing red and tucking a stray piece of hair behind her ear. She was definitely reminding Caitlin of Helina now...although Helina was bickering with Cailyn at the moment because Cailyn had just stolen her hair tie again...like usual. Theresa was off socializing...or spending her time in detention. Caitlin didn't really know.

"She's new this term," Rufina announced, grinning broadly. "I just thought I would befriend her."

At this, Claire frowned. "Why would you go into a new school in the last term?"

Trust Claire to be diplomatic.

Caitlin rolled her eyes. "Because she can, Claire." Hannah gave her a small smile. 

"But still," Claire pressed, "what's the point?"

"Claire..." Caitlin trailed off.

Leanne responded by stepping really hard on Claire's foot, making the latter yelp. She beamed at Hannah. "Nice to meet you. I'm Leanne." 

Claire didn't say anything, which made Caitlin feel like she wanted to smack her. "That's Claire," she said, smiling apologetically at Hannah. "She's a little...off today."

"I am not, I am just stating facts," Claire retorted. "I am only voicing my opinion, and I think - "

Leanne slapped her hand over Claire's mouth. Caitlin grimaced, and Leanne's expression didn't show anything different. "Sorry about her," she said. 

To Caitlin's surprise, Hannah was giggling. "She's funny."

Claire made a bunch of sounds from under Leanne's hand. Caitlin could tell from her body language that Claire was angry, but she pinched the girl really hard on the arm. Claire glared at her. 

Rufina shook her head. "You guys are just weird."

"Ya think?" Anna was already burying her face in her hands at the sight of the three of them. 

"I think you forgot about them," said Claudia, who had just arrived. She pointed to Helina and Cailyn, who looked like they were in a big argument - again. Helina even got so frustrated that she switched to Chinese when she was yelling, and she didn't even realize until she saw that Cailyn was staring at her in puzzlement.

"We have a name, you know!" Cailyn yelled back. 

"Whatever!" Claudia called.

"Hey!" Helina crossed her arms. 

Claire carefully removed Leanne's hand from her mouth. "Did you guys know that Joy and Joshua met up recently?"

That sentence had quite a big effect on all of them - except Hannah, who was eating silently, and Anna, who was more interested in reading the new canteen menu then talking to them.
