This had to be the worst day ever in Leanne's life.

Why? Well, it wasn't hard.

She'd lost her temper, accused her friend of something that most likely wasn't true, and had judged her friends' trust in her. Not to mention that she'd made all of them mad at her - Caitlin, Cailyn and Helina.

What she had learnt over her argument: don't make Helina angry. An angry Helina was scary.

At least Claire and Anna still talked to her. She knew Claire was because Claire never took sides in an argument. She wasn't one to ignore people, and Anna was only talking to her because she supported Leanne's opinion in the argument. But Leanne was pretty sure she didn't hold the same opinion anymore as she did before.

Her heart had been racked with guilt during the whole first class after recess. She'd made the others feel horrible. She'd put them down. To make matters worse, she'd made one of them cry. Basically she'd acted exactly like a bully, and she wanted to fix it.

It felt like her group of friends were divided into two islands. She and Anna were on one side. The others were on the rest. Except Claire, who was...Leanne had no idea where. She was divided in half? Not literally, but it sure seemed like it.

"Ready for lunch?" Claire whispered to Leanne at near the end of fourth period, the class before the students were let out again.

"I could lie and say of course I'm ready," Leanne replied, "but truthfully...no. Not at all. Everyone's going to think that I'm a horrible friend."

"No, they won't," Claire replied firmly. Leanne sighed. If only she could be as confident as Claire. But Claire's expression told her that her hopes were about as high as Leanne's. If possible, her spirits sank even lower.

The next two classes they had in their homeroom, and Caitlin had not even turned to look at Leanne once since Claire had passed her the note Leanne had wrote for her. Leanne felt a little angry, but she knew she deserved it. She was the one who had made her upset in the first place.

Theresa was angry with her too. She only spoke to Caitlin and no one else. Sometimes Claire if she absolutely had to, but never to Leanne.

By lunchtime, most people were whooping and rushing out of class with their lunches to find their friends and get the best spots in the courtyard below. Leanne stood awkwardly by her desk with Claire. To her surprise, Caitlin decided to stay with them. Maybe she wasn't mad anymore...but it was too big to hope for.

Theresa clearly didn't want to stay, but she didn't have any other options. Her frown deepened when Anna came. Leanne had nearly forgotten that Theresa and Anna were having their own fight over the bigger main massive fight.

"Hey."Anna greeted her by giving her a hug. Her eyes skipped over Claire, stopped for a moment on Caitlin, and then froze when she looked at Theresa. Her smile turned into a glare.

Claire noticed the glare. "Uh..."

Theresa rolled her eyes, which seemed to make Anna more angrier. Leanne grabbed her arm before she could do anything stupid (like tackle Theresa to the floor, for instance).

"How about we go outside?" Caitlin asked timidly.

"That's a good idea,"said Claire, and she led everyone out of the room. Anna stayed by Leanne's side and Theresa acted like she was Caitlin's bodyguard. If it were a different situation, Leanne might have laughed.

They headed out to the willow tree. Leanne wasn't really surprised when Cailyn and Helina were nowhere to be seen. She didn't expect them to be there, anyway. Not after she'd accused Cailyn of something that wasn't true and Helina had cried because of what she had said. She half-expected Caitlin to go and find the two girls, but for some reason, Caitlin decided to stay sitting with them. She sat between Theresa and Claire and hardly said a word.
