Leanne chuckled as Caitlin and Cailyn stood up and started singing together to Kyouran Hey Kids!! which had been their ultimate favourite song ever since Caitlin's birthday. Before Cailyn had made Caitlin listen to Blossomy (花又開好了), and Caitlin had reluctantly admitted that she kinda liked the song, making Cailyn - and Helina, especially Helina - cheer.
Helina beamed proudly at her best friend for how she'd made S.H.E become such a big influence on her. Leanne shook her head, still smiling. Her two daughters were so weird, but they had such a strong friendship and although they were generally annoying, they displayed great compassion for one another and that was why she loved them so much.
Although, Leanne was never going to tell Helina that she'd liked the song Superstar...
Then, as if they couldn't get any weirder, Caitlin and Cailyn started yelling the lyrics to their weird and bird-themed version of Jingle Bells, although it was nowhere near Christmas yet:
"Dashing through the snow
Stealing Christmas trees
O'er the sparkling fields we go
Flapping in the breeze
Bells on bird tails ring
Spirits taking flight
What fun it is to fly and sing
A haunting song tonight
Oh, jingle birds, jingle birds
Pigeons all the way
Oh what fun it is to fly
And dress up in cosplay, hey!
Jingle birds, jingle birds
Pigeons all the way
Oh what fun it is to fly
And find demon kings to slaaaaaayy," Caitlin and Cailyn finished, still grinning widely.
"What the heck?" Theresa, who had been chatting to Rufina about something, stared at the two girls in disbelief.
"You can slay any demon king, just as long as it's not Lucifer," Claire instructed them. Leanne rolled her eyes.
Today was the day right after Caitlin's birthday, and everyone else who hadn't been able to spend the day with her had ambushed her with presents. Claire also came with Joy's present since she didn't attend the same school as them.
Also, it was Cailyn's first day back at school and everyone was super ecstatic at her return.
"Dress up in cosplay? We can make Leanne cosplay Sailor Moon!" Caitlin squealed, referring to one of Joy's stories that she'd literally improvised on the spot.
"NO," Leanne said a bit too loudly. Other people who were having their own conversations turned briefly to stare at her before resuming their own conversations. "By the way, where did you get that song from? You didn't make it up, did you?"
"Nope," Cailyn replied, although she was grinning slyly at Caitlin. Leanne remembered how those two had made a England parody with the same tune as The Twelve Days of Christmas:
Five delicious scones
Four warm coats
Three cups of tea
