TW: Abusive Relationship...

-------

You walked into the theater with a swift turn of your head, noticing that the staff wasn't looking and you slipped into the shadows and under the locked doorway. When you emerged on the other side you quickly silenced your phone after sending Mk a thumbs up on meeting him at Wukongs. Now pocketing your phone, you glanced around the dark theater and dipped into the shadows to get more spacial awareness, now hovering down the stairs and inching your way to the stage.

Turning your body backwards you gaped at how high the rafters of the theater went, now pulling yourself out of the shadow realm and stood in front of the stage. Looking backwards, you felt your breath leave you for a second at the height of the stage, it was tall, up to your eyes to be exact. Going into the shadows once more, you climbed your way up onto the stage and stood tall on it, looking around the dark theater and wondering where you were to go from here.

Your question was answered when there was a loud flick of a light switch, you wincing when the back part of the stage glowed a vibrant purple. "Well you're early." You heard a voice speak, you turning your head away from the bright light behind you, your eyes searching for the source of the voice. "I get you have this thing with being early, but man, you're earlier than I'll ever be. Also, don't look right behind you into the light, that's a rookie mistake." The voice made themselves known by appearing onto the stages edge, their tail swishing while their smile remained firm.

You sighed a breath of relief upon seeing Macaque, now walking up to him and glancing around the decently lit up theater. "I don't know if I'm quiet ready for this yet..." You confessed, rubbing one of your arms as you looked up at the empty seats, they were daunting that's for sure. "I mean, if Mk and the others do come, I'm scared I'm gonna mess something up." You sighed and shook your head, now turning over to Macaque to see him holding the lantern he had taught you to use a while back.

He noticed your gaze and just shrugged his shoulders, walking to the center of the stage and checking the ceiling. "Bah, you'll be fine! You've been too in your head as of late, you need to learn to let loose. Besides, you'll be concealed in a cloak, no one will be able to tell who you are." He assured you, pulling a lever on the side and smiling when a few puppets fell from the top. "If they are able to recognize you by your voice, then your acting needs more work." He chuckled now walking up to check the condition of the puppets, gesturing for you to come over and do the same.

You abided and walked over to the puppet that looked akin to Sun Wukong, you pampering the faceless puppet with a longing look. "I know, it's just that I've never done this before. Plus, this isn't my tale to tell..." You turned your head backwards to look at Macaque, only to see his posture to be rigid as he brushed the puppet clean.  You turned around and left the conversation there, not wanting to upset your mentor even more, if you even had.

After insuring the puppets were in decent condition, Macaque walked you to the front of the stage and pointed at the torn cloths hanging from the stage. "Those, will cover up your puppets. Normally shadow plays have more magic to them, but since you have this," Macaque lifted the lantern up, the middle portion lighting a dull purple. "you won't need to do that much work. Just go about the play like I taught you and everything will piece itself together. If something happens I'll lend a hand." You nodded your head when Macaque gave you a reassuring smile, handing the lantern over to you.
