The sky had changed to an eerie blue color, clouds of dust covered the trains vision before the train pushed through and breathed light through the clouds. Ice crawled up building tops and towards the tracks you were on, the train rolling over them with a hitch. The train was quiet and you could hear every scream of every citizen that once lived in Lantern City, it stretched on for miles and flooded your thoughts with dread. This is what she wanted, and she was winning.
After leaving the once lively and busy streets of the city, you had managed to find some sort of calm within you as you hugged the Rings of Samadhi close to your body. Your last hope. "Uh, so uh, Mr. King sir, I don't wanna rush you or anything but uh-?" Tang started to speak, pulling you out of your thoughts and turning to look at the group you were banned together with.
Mk pushed past you and shoved his face on the glass of the monorail, his lights flickering around the area outside. "I'm okay with rushing him, what's the plan Monkey King!?" Mk shouted, turning around to face his mentor with a frustrated look. "We got all three Rings of Samadhi," Mk started, gesturing to you who was holding the rings close to your body. "so how do we use them to make The Lady Bone Demon go 'boom'!? Is there a switch or..?" Mk shouted as he was jolted to the ground when the train rolled over another piece of ice.
You closed your eyes tightly as you stabilized yourself on the floor, the stress of the situation coming towards you in waves, slowly your glamour falling off your eye. "It's a bit more complicated than that. In order to reforge the Samadhi fire, we need to reach the summit of that mountain." Wukong explained, you opening your eyes and blinking them into focus. You slowly walked towards your dad and stood next to him, gasping a little in awe at the mountain Wukong was talking about.
Though the structure of said mountain confused you, you didn't bat an eye to it, as it was built by Celestial beings for one soul purpose. "Huh, and uh, that's where we'll find the fourth ring, huh?" Your father spoke, turning over to look at the sage, you furrowing your brows and looking down towards him. "Ain't that right, Monkey King?" Your father added more venom on the last word, you just looking over at Wukong with a confused expression. You knew why Pigsy was acting this way, you heard it from Wukong himself when he was under amnesia, but you've just been blocking it out. You had too much trust in him to believe he was lying to you all this whole time.
Wukong furrowed his brows at Pigsy and snarled a little, Mk butting in and asking about the fourth ring, Tang jumping in to the conversation as well. "Oh Pigsy, I think you're confused. Monkey King said they split the fire into three rings. Three rings hidden by the three great warriors, Monkey King, The Demon Bull King and-!" Tang was cut off when the train jerked at a sudden movement to the side, you catching yourself on your feet. Your heart pooled with dread as you felt a familiar presence outside of the train, knowing that emotion was never good, you ran to the window with Mk by your side.
He held you hoodie sleeve tightly as you both watched a ship float down next to the train, you tucking your chin inwards to hide the rings in your hold. "Uh, who dat!?" Mk asked, turning over to Wukong. You just bit your lip as the ship rushed forward to the head of the train, your breath wavering as you knew nothing good was about to happen.
There was a loud crash that came after a few seconds, and with that crash came the screech of the trains wheels halting to a stop. You let out a yelp as Mk caught you before you fell and he held onto a pole to catch the two of you. You felt the cart suddenly grow warmer, and small flickers of pink flames flew past the window, you biting your lip and you looked around.
