You were nudged awake by someone poking your face, you grumbling and opening your eyes to find Mei. "Hey, piggy said we've stopped for the night, you gonna come out or..?" You groaned and grabbed Meis hand, confusing her as she just stood there. "We've got s'mores!" With a huff you sat up and scooted over to the ladder, Mei helping you down with an excited smile.

She held your arm in her hands as you started to walk out of the van, entering a completely different environment that you weren't used to. "It's so... dark." You spoke, trying to look around and see if your eye would adjust to anything, it wouldn't. "I can't see a thing." You whispered, reaching a hand up to catch the tears before they fell, knowing that this is how your'd have to live your life from now on. Mei rubbed your back and eased you into a hug, Mk watching the two of you with a longing look. also wanting to rush over and comfort you.

Mk jumped when a hand was pressed on his shoulder, turning over and finding Monkey King giving him a somber look. "I know bud, you just have to give her time. She may be comfortable with different people for different reasons, I'm sure she'll tell you why she's so... jumpy around you soon enough. For now, just focus on earning her trust back. Baby steps kid!" Mk smiled a little as his mentor tried to cheer him up, looking back over and watching as Mei helped you around the area.

Mei, meanwhile, was having the time of her life with being as close as she was with you, it was almost like a dream come true to her. "Okay okay, how about that, can you see that?" She laughed a little, watching as you squinted before groaning again. "Hey, it's okay! You'll get used to everything eventually. In the meanwhile, just take this as a time to sit back and relax! You've been to in your head lately about dumb things, and you've been training to much. Maybe this set back is a good thing!" Mei cheered, trying to bring your attitude up as she hugged your waist tighter, helping you walk over to a chair.

You hummed as she helped you sit down, Wukong opening a lawn chair and seating himself to the right of you. "In some ways, you're right Mei. But I need to adapt quicker than I have been, if I'm not adapted when the big battle comes... I don't know how much of use I'll be." You sighed out, Mei's face dropping a little as you spoke. "But, I'll relax as you wish. Just for a moment though." You brought her mood back up, Mei giggling as she ran away to grab some supplies for s'mores.

You leaned farther into the lawn chair you were in, looking up at the stars through squinted eyes while a certain sage watched you. "You know, not everything in life has to be about getting better." You blinked and continued to stare at the stars, your fingers twitching a little as Wukong got closer. "Sometimes, you have to fail over and over again before you start to see improvement. Now, I'm not saying losing your eye is something you should stride for to get better, but what I'm trying to say is,

maybe losing your eye won't be the worst thing to come, maybe this isn't something terrible either. Sure, it hurts to get it taken away and it hurts to adjust to a new world, but think about it. You now know where there are holes in your fighting, and you now know what you need to do to get better, to improve on not only yourself, but others.

When you fought that... image of Mk, didn't you notice some flaws in his fighting form? Didn't you find a way to best him after a few times? And did he ever best you before taking your sight? Think well and hard on these things while you relax, maybe you'll come to find that there are somethings you and Mk never knew about each other." Wukong finished, sighing and leaning farther back into his chair, your grip on your chairs sides tightening. Find something out that you and Mk never knew? Like what?
