As Izzy powered off her pc to call it a day, she felt stiff all over from sitting so long at her desk. Stretching her arms out, she got up and notice almost no one was left in the office. She had been nose deep in her work that she barely watched the time or took note of others around her. Feeling drained and her stomach growling with hunger, she packed up her things to leave. Most of the office lights were already off and she knew Burak would probably be with the chairman still trying to sort out issues. Walking to the elevator, she waited for the doors to open. When it finally arrived, she got in and pressed ground floor, as the doors were about to close, a hand stopped it from closing. She was pleasantly surprise to see it was Burak. Trying to hide her happiness, she bit on her bottom lip and gave him a nod. As the doors closed, he turned around and pulled her close.
"Is that how you greet your lover these days?" he smirked.
He looked so tired and stressed, but she could see he was putting up a good front to cover. She stood on her tiptoes as she kissed his cheek sweetly.
"That's it?!" he laughed.
"Behave! We still at work!" she nudged him.
"How can I behave, when the most beautiful woman in the world is right here in my arms?"
She buried her face in his chest to hide her embarrassment. Burak put his hand under her chin and lift it up slowly so she can face him. They stared into each other's eyes, like they were exchanging secret codes by just looking.
" Are you okay? I know this are probably hectic right now for you"
It warmed Burak's heart to know he had someone like Izzy in his life. Someone that is worried about him as a person and not just the business.
"I'll be fine. Everything will be fine"
He stroked her hair as he gave her a sweet smile then stole a kiss from her lips. It caught Izzy by surprise, that by the time the elevator announced ground floor, she pushed herself away from Burak so fast before the doors open. He tried really hard to not burst out in laughter at her. Trying to grab her hand, she made sure to stand out of his reach. Smirking to himself, he exited the elevator then whispered to her:
"I'll go get the car. Wait for me"
She knew he would be angry if she took a cab instead, so she walked down to the corner furtherest from the office block. Before Burak arrived, her phone was buzzing in her purse. Taking it out, she saw it was her mother.
"Hey Mom, I was going to call you when I got home. What happened?"
"Hey honey.. Rachel probably told you already. Sorry I wanted to tell you myself, but everything happened so fast"
She could hear her mother's voice trembling a bit, so she knew she had to soften her approach and not be angry for not knowing sooner.
"It's okay Mom. Take your time and tell me what happened"
Her mom took a deep breath and then started telling her the details of the car accident. It broke her heart that she was so far from home at this moment and couldn't be there to offer support.
"... And that's how your dad got injured more than me. He is stable, but he slips in and out of consciousness. They said we should just be patient"
"Do you need me to come home? I'll take the first flight out of here.."
"No, no honey. What about work? We'll be fine. As much as I miss you, I know you busy. How's Burak? Is he taking good care of you?"
Just as she asked, he arrived to pick her up. She got into the car and mouthed to him she's talking to her mother.
"Yes, yes everything is fine. Please keep me updated and call me whenever you need anything. I'll be on call 24hours. Please mom don't go through this alone"

The conversation made Burak curious about what was happening. As he patiently waited for Izzy to be done, so he could ask. When the call ended, he asked Izzy what was happening. She briefly told him what was going on and also her father's condition. Burak pulled the car over abruptly at the side of the road.
"Why are you stopping?" Izzy asked anxiously.
"Izzy, do you want to go back? To help your mom and also be there for your dad's recovery"
Burak's question caught her off guard.
"Uhm.. I do, but I just started here and it will look bad if I go back halfway"
She fidgeted with her purse, as she was really two minded about what she wanted to do. Also, she wanted to be there for Burak during this time too.
"I know you worried about me, but I'm tough. I can deal with the business affairs. In any case, I wanted to tell you tonight that I need to leave on a business trip with my father. We trying to do as much damage control as we can"
He leaned over to Izzy and placed his hand on her cheek rubbing it fervently with his thumb.
"But.. I..."
She struggled to find the right words to express herself.
"It will be okay, I promise. Go home. I'll ensure your work can continue from that side if need be. But now you have to stop thinking about work and go be with your family"
"Then we will be apart again..."
She mumbled it to herself as it caught her off guard at how needy she had become.
"Izzy, I'll be waiting here for you. No one is going to take your place in my heart. Also, I would feel better knowing you home with your family than being alone at the penthouse"
He leaned over kissed her forehead then started the car and drove off. Burak stopped by a street vendor selling food close to the shore. The weather was nice and he thought a good stroll and local food would help.

The food definitely cheered Izzy up, as she seemed to think more rational after eating.
"Tessekur ederim ( thank you)"
"Huh? Thank you for what, Izzy?"
"For being such a wonderful partner. I don't know what I'd do without you"
He hugged her tightly from behind as they looked at the night lights reflecting on the waters.
"You're my kismet. That's what I believe, atleast"
"You believe in fate?" she looked up to face him.
"I didn't before I met you. You changed me and made me believe in things I haven't before. Maybe I'm just love drunk on you" he buried his face in her hair.
"Oh Mr CEO! I didn't know you were so smooth with your lines" she teased.
He grabbed her by the waist and tickled her sides that made her shriek in laughter. It made him extra happy when he saw Izzy happy.
"OK! OK! You win!" she said defeated by laughter.
"You have me and only you" he kissed her lips.
"And you have me, always will. We will get through it all.." she said it trying to convince herself as well.
"Evet(yes)! I'll be waiting to welcome you back home" he said.

And so the storm that was brewing, had already started to separate them. Unknowingly, their decision had given ammunition to the lurking eyes around them. The test for their love was about to begin..
