Emma was back in town and in a buzz as always. She was impatiently waiting for Serkan downstairs at his hotel.
"I'm back! What's your room number? I'm downstairs at your hotel"
Serkan was in no mood for Emma and definitely did not want to tell her which room he was in, as his trust in her dwindled after what she did.
"Go to the restaurant downstairs, I'll be down shortly"
In the corner of the restaurant, Emma took a seat, waiting for Serkan to join her. He came after 10 minutes and his mood already sunk when his eyes met hers.
"You took so long! A person would swear you have a lot of things to do" she nagged.
"What do you want?" he said annoyed.
"Money! That's all I want and care about and since Burak messed with me, I'm even more greedy to get it" she said in a venomous tone.
"Oh... So what do you plan to do?" Serkan asked uninterested.
Emma looked over at Serkan who seemed different, since the last time they met up.
"How are you related to Burak?" she asked randomly.
"His my cousin" he said coldly.
"Cousin??! I thought you just had beef because because you wanted Izzy"
Just as Emma wanted to ask more , Serkan's phone rang and it was his personal lawyer. The call seemed like it was to convey bad news as Serkan held his tongue not to curse aloud after speaking for a while.
"Serkan Bey, things are really getting serious here. You need to come back and make a decision. All your investments have been targeted and going down south, it's definitely a personal attack on you through the business. Right now, only your money in your offshore accounts are safe" the lawyer explained.
"Offff! Do you know who it is that is targeting me?" Serkan asked.
"Your aunt back in Turkiye, got the information a few minutes ago. I have tried my best to help out as a friend and as your lawyer, but we need you to come back to try and get things back on track"
"Understood, thanks!"
Ending the call, Serkan looked so frustrated and seemed really bothered. He had forgotten that Emma was still there and sighed heavily, then sat back down at the table.
"What happened? You look horrible! Like someone upset you" Emma asked.
"They did, Burak's damn family!" he said through gritted teeth.
Looking at Serkan, Emma wasn't sure if she should pity him or laugh at him for being conned by his own relatives.
"What they do? Take all your money?" she joked.
"YES!" he said with a murderous look in his eyes.
"Oh my! Here I was joking about it , but it really happened to you! I thought that I was pathetic, but you're worse! Your own family is screwing you over. I guess you're no match for Burak or his family" she mocked.
Her words hit Serkan hard, as those were things he had always heard growing up. At this moment his temper was flaring up and he stood up to leave.
"What?! My words hit a sore spot? Want to join forces and make them pay once and for all?"
"Go screw yourself!" Serkan said harshly then left.
On his way back to his room, he kept thinking about what his lawyer said was going on and Emma's harsh words. It was like adding extra fuel to the fire pit and he was being pushed to the edge into the flames. As soon as he got into his room, he grabbed a beer from the mini bar , took a big gulp and then dialed First Lady.
"Are you having fun?!" he asked her sarcastically.
"Yes, I am! Everything is being restored to how it should be" she said arrogantly.
"Hmm..super! I see you like playing games and then discarding of people when you get what you want"
"So, what's the problem with that? You have wasted my time by playing around in SA without showing me any real results. By taking matters into my own hands, I have succeeded faster. Why would I still keep you by my side?"
"Now that you got what you wanted, you're even jeopardizing my livelihood"
"Yes, so go back to the hole where you crawled out from and don't play games with people out of your league" she sneered.
"Want to play a game we all can play? How about I tell Burak the truth?" Serkan threatened.
"What truth?"
"Tell him how we are related.."
"What do I care if he finds out you're his cousin?"
"Oh.. but what if I told him that his dear mother who wants to rule everything in his life is not his biological mother?"
"Nonsense!" she yelled.
"Or is it? You think I didn't do my homework? I know that you are not Burak's real mother"
There was a brief pause and he could hear how unsettled First Lady was starting to sound.
"Seeing that you don't want to talk, I'll continue my story time. You see, I knew that you are a despicable and ruthless woman. You are the type to use and abuse others to get a step further up the ladder. The games you play always have more than one pawn pieces lying around, so I came prepared"
"You're just spitting nonsense because you're backed into a corner" she said nervously.
"Am I? Well, I guess seeing that I am already losing everything, I should be fearless... Especially when I tell Burak that you killed his biological mother.. the same way you killed mine!"
"Shut up!" she demanded.
"You think I don't know that Burak's birth mother and mine were sisters? You knew that she was carrying the chairman's child, but you were greedy because she took the position you wanted. So to prevent her from becoming First Lady, you deliberately planned the car accident that year. What you didn't know when you planned it was that my mother and Burak was in the car with her, or did you know? You're a vile woman, so it's possible! Anything to get the chairman away from the woman he truly loved, regardless of her social status..."
"So what?! She should never have seduced him and gotten pregnant. It was all mine to begin with and always will be mine! All these low class vixens trying to get into our world. Uncultured, uneducated, with no family backgrounds similar to ours... All they do is seduce rich men!"
"Shut up! The only one who is the vixen in all this is you! Calling you a vixen is mild, there are some foul titles I can think of that suit you better. Why else do you think I got involved in this? I knew Izzy might be history repeating itself and I was going to make sure that it doesn't happen. You and you're asshole of a son , don't deserve someone as kind as her!" Serkan spat back.
"You're not as dumb as you look! What do you plan to do with the information? I can throw you a bone..." she said reluctantly.
"There is no free meal in this world, so wait and see the game we can all play!"
First Lady was fuming as Serkan hung up the phone in her ear. She wasn't sure what he had planned, which made her a bit fearful and also anxious.
