"What the hell?!" Emma yelled.
Daisy stood perplexed behind her, pretending not to understand why she was shocked at her arrival.
"Why are you yelling?" Daisy replied innocently.
"Because why are you here? Why didn't you announce yourself before that?" Emma asked angrily.
She picked up her phone from the ground to check if there was any serious damage, but just a few scratches.
" I was calling out after you, but you probably never heard me" Daisy lied.
"Hmm.. I didn't hear you.." Emma grumbled in reply.
"So what we looking at??" Daisy asked excitedly.
"Nothing.. I was just seeing if there is available seats inside" she lied.
"Why are you looking from here? Let's go in!" Daisy said.
Grabbing her by the hand and leading her to the entrance. Just as they were about to enter, Izzy came out and Serkan followed shortly.
"Izzy!" Daisy yelled.
"What are you guys doing here?" she asked.
"I was out on a walk and Emma was trying to see if there are available seats inside. We were about to go in when you came out. Serkan, right?"
Daisy's attention shifted from her sister to Serkan.
"Yes, good memory" he said.
Daisy planted a smile on her face just to not show her skepticism over his agenda with her sister.
"Yeah, we met inside and he offered to buy me cake and coffee" Izzy explained.
"Why are you explaining to us? We're not Burak or you trying to cover up something?" Emma said sarcastically.
Izzy rolled her eyes at Emma's words and Daisy nudged her with her elbow.
"No, we really met by chance.." Serkan intervened.
He felt uneasy with Emma's attitude towards Izzy. Although they were in cahoots regarding Burak and Izzy, Serkan didn't like the unnecessary bitterness Izzy was enduring from Emma.
"Ofcourse you guys are! Not a big deal!" Daisy said aloud, as she tried to break the ice between everyone."Thanks again Serkan. I'll take my leave now" Izzy said.
"Why don't we all grab a quick coffee together?" Daisy suggested.
"No, I'll head back and sort out some things before heading to the hospital" Izzy said and left.
Everyone stood and watched her walk away.
"Serkan, please join us" Daisy said politely.
He wanted to refuse, but she kept insisting. Emma's mood had already gone sour, but Daisy held onto her hand tightly so that she couldn't refuse either.
"Okay, if you insist" he said.
Emma eyed him secretly, but didn't notice that Daisy caught a glimpse of her doing it.They sat down inside the bakery and Daisy ordered the drinks. She was the one taking charge and kept asking Serkan loads of questions about his job, his hometown, etc.
"Are you conducting a survey or are you interviewing him?" Emma asked.
"You're so funny!!" Daisy said aloud then playfully hit her sister's arm.
"There is nothing wrong with getting to know Serkan. We don't know what the future might hold" Daisy said to Emma.
"You right Miss Daisy. Life is unexpected" Serkan said.
" Indeed it is" Daisy said with a fake smile plastered on her face.
"Can we go now?" Emma asked.
"I'll use the bathroom then we can" Daisy said.
Emma knew she couldn't be caught chatting to Serkan, so they sat like strangers awkwardly.
"Why are you acting so hostile towards Izzy? I feel like it's unnecessary" Serkan said through gritted teeth.
Emma pretended to look out the store window and ignored Serkan.
"Are you seriously ignoring me now?"
"Shut up!" She muttered under her breath.
Before they could get into it any further, Daisy came back.
"Thank you for the coffee Miss Daisy, I have to go now" Serkan said,as he got up and exited swiftly.
"Uhm.. Did something happen while I was gone? Why is he so in a hurry to leave?" Daisy asked Emma.
"How must I know what goes on in his head? His a weirdo anyway.." Emma lagged off. They arrived at home and Izzy had cooked a few simple dishes. Some to take with to the hospital for their mom and the rest for everyone to eat.
"Ooo! My sister has been busy! All that experimenting with online recipes are working now" Daisy joked.
"I hope it's edible" Izzy laughed.
"I'm not hungry, I'll go upstairs" Emma said.
"What's with her?" Izzy whispered.
"Don't worry about her, she's been moody all day" Daisy said.
"Want to eat now or later?" Izzy asked.
"Now!! Let me just go change" Daisy said.
Going back to her room she locked the door then made a phone call.
"Hey, can you talk?" Daisy whispered.
"I have a meeting soon, let's talk later"
"Sure" Daisy said then concluded the call.
She quickly went back downstairs to join Izzy for a meal.
"I thought you're changing clothes? Izzy asked confused as Daisy came back in the same attire.
" Yeah... I thought silly to change. I'll put it in the laundry after we come back from the hospital"
Daisy had to be quick on her feet to think of an excuse.
"Hmm.. Yeah. Is Emma really not going to join us?"
"Just let her be. She's not a child to be taken care of" Daisy said as she started digging into the meal.
As they started eating Daisy noticed that Izzy seemed a bit upset.
"What's on your mind?"
"Mine? N-nothing.." she lied.
"I didn't just meet you today. I know you very well, so spill it!" Daisy insisted.
"Something weird happened today or maybe I'm just being paranoid.." Izzy said hesitant.
"Just tell me, I'll say if you're paranoid or not" Daisy reassured her.
Izzy then told Daisy in detail how Serkan asked about their father's treatment and then also about the financial ability to cover it. She told her how weird the conversation got and how he hinted at Burak seemed rich by his attire, so he could have offered to pay for the treatment.
"That's all.. Like maybe it's nothing weird, but just surprised by his straightforward behaviour to ask me that" Izzy said.
"I get what you mean. Even though his intentions may seem harmless, still it is a bit brave of him to say things like that so bluntly"
"Yeah, so felt weirded out by the situation, but as you said might be harmless"
They finished their food and then got ready to leave to the hospital. As Daisy was waiting for Izzy she took out her phone on the sly to text someone.Hey
You were right!.. Definitely something going on with Serkan. When we talk again I'll tell you the full story. Before she put her phone away an instant reply came through.
Thanks sis!
Be careful and don't let Izzy find out
Talk later...
