Jake
During our time in France, I did my best to keep Alison away from Dad, and every time he came to get the children to play, I gave them to him. But all of this juggling around made my dream holiday become a nightmare.
Alison got very upset during the trip because I brought the baby and Tommy to snowboard in the mountains with me.
She did a show displaying all her emotions and cried the entire night because the kids and I were away from her the whole day. For the first time, I got fed up with her attitude and slept in Olly's room one night because I could not stand the sight of her near me.
I have been excited about this trip since last summer, as I am passionate about winter sports, and I want to introduce my children to snowboarding from an early age. I remember receiving my first board when I was Tommy's age, and my dad would always take Olly and me up to the highest peaks of the mountains.
Tommy and even Jamie never complained about the cold. I strapped the baby to my body, and he enjoyed the view of a new world. Tommy had his board with Dad, Olly, and Matt helping. However, Alison's overly affectionate actions blocked my ability to interact with my children as I wanted.
Mum and even Matt's Mum, Katie, did not go skiing for days to keep Alison company as she was uncomfortable in the cold and uninterested in learning to ski.
But the truth was simple. Alison pretended she was bothered about the cold and uninterested in learning to make me drop all my plans and babysit her for two weeks. She created a world where I was the bad guy for leaving my wife, who did not want to try anything. To be more precise, Alison sought my complete and undivided attention.
All those events led me to sit outside Doctor White's office, where I wanted to talk to him before returning to my job after the New Year. But as always, the man was talking and talking and not saying anything helpful. To the extent of checking his calendar for some couple's appointment, and if this lunatic is advising me to have couple's therapy so he can observe Alison around me, I will lose it now.
I looked at him, angry at all the bullshit he was saying. "You can't be serious about saying what I think you are saying. Because if you are, Doctor White. I will seek another professional's help."
The man composed himself, knowing he had gone too far with his delusions. "I'm sorry, Mr Stewart. I thought that would be the best approach, as now she is no longer your fake wife."
Of course, Alison had to talk in therapy about our trip to Vegas. Does Mother know by now or, worse, my father?
"It doesn't matter what steps I had to take to get Alison a passport to fly to France, Doctor White. If you are wondering in your head, the answer is no. I am not taken by Alison as my mother is. I have learned to tolerate her invading my space, but we are miles away from her being my real wife, even if the State of Nevada says otherwise."
Shaking my head, I continued. "Now, stop with your delusions like my mother and tell me what I should do here to make Alison a reasonable person. Because if she keeps up with her attitude, I won't be able to keep living with her much longer, and I won't feel remorseful about making her leave."
He closed his iPad and crossed his legs. "She appears to be threatened by your secretary, and..."
"Jessica!!" I said with gritted teeth. For God's sake, the woman has a name.
"I'm sorry, Jessica. Alison sensed the disconnection between you two and thought the marriage had drifted apart. She senses Jessica is more significant than her in your life. She has fixated on her because Jessica is the only female in your life she met apart from your mother."
