We have arrived at the place Kenji was talking about. I welcomed, "Here we are. Lookout Point. But really, the point is up there," I pointed towards a high hill.
"How do we get there?" Brooklyn asks.
"Sky gondola," Kenji explains, "But since the power's down we'll have to walk up there. Not much of a problem. Only that it's a 3-5 day trek."
Yaz scoffed, "That'll take me an hour."
"Great. I'll meet you at the top!" Brooklyn teased as she pressed a button and activated the gondola's power. "Ta da!"
Everyone frowned at Kenji who almost made them participate in a three to five day trek.
Kenji tried to lighten everyone's behavior, "Last one there's the LAST one there!"
Both Kenji and Sammy ran towards a gondola enjoying themselves. Another one came whilst Brooklyn and Yaz walked towards it first. Yaz called out, "Brooklyn."
"I'm guessing we're going to ride together," said the pink haired girl.
"Yup," said Yaz. The booth came. "After you."
"No no. Really, after you."
"Thanks..." They both walked in. As Darius walked towards the gondola as well, they both called out, "Darius, hey, you wanna ride with us?" But it left.
He looked at me, confused. I answered, "You do NOT wanna know how they talk towards each other." I looked at Ben. "I guess it's just the three of us, then."
Ben tried to reason, "You know what, you both leave without me. I'll be fine."
"You sure?" I asked.
"Go ahead," Ben tried to reason again, "I'm fine." He walked towards Bumpy. The way he talked didn't have us convinced.
Darius still had the walkie talkie from when they dealt with the distress beacon back on main street. He spoke in it, "Kenji, go get the gliders without me. I think something's wrong with Ben."
"Whaaat?" Kenji asked, unnecessarily.
"I THINK something's wrong with Ben," Darius replied again.
"What?" he asked again.
He quit, "You know what, never mind."
"What?" he asked AGAIN.
"Just forget it, Darius. He won't listen," I said. We both walked towards Ben.
"Oh, um...I thought you two would be going up the gondola."
"Meh. They got it covered," I said.
Up in Sammy and Kenji's gondola, they seem to be having fun. They swing the gondola on both sides and sit down for a while. "Kenji, I gotta say. You're one of my favorite people to hang out with," said Sammy, excitingly.
"Uh...thank you," Kenji replies.
"Right up there with Yaz, Aanya, Brooklyn, Darius, and Ben," Sammy elaborated.
Kenji asks, "So, top six?"
"Uh huh."
"Sweet!" They both get up and swing it again.
On the OTHER hand, Brooklyn and Yaz are sitting, calmly. They watch as Sammy and Kenji have fun. Yaz asks Brooklyn, "[clears throat] So... [clears throat]"
"So...um," Brooklyn tries to start a conversation, "What do you like to do for fun at home?"
"I don't really have a lot of time for fun," Yaz explains, "It's really just...competing and training."
"Yeah yeah. Totally relate."
"Oh. So you know what it's like training five hours in a gym everyday?"
"I WISH my job only took five hours a day," says Brooklyn.
"Yup. Must be really hard spending time recording videos and tryna make them enjoyable to watch on your smart phone."
"As a matter of fact it is," Brooklyn dives deeper, "Have you ever tried holding a phone steady while climbing a glacier."
"No. I spend time running four and a half minute miles."
"You should try it sometime," Brooklyn recommends, "It's extremely fun, especially if you have nothing to do but train all day."
"Relate."
"Sacrificing a normal childhood just to maintain good numbers?"
"Yeah. Same here."
"Wow. We have SO much in common."
"So nice."
They went back to sitting quietly, since they have nothing else to talk about.

HorrorI have written this story before. But over time, I have become a better author, so I will be rewriting this story in a better way. This is all from my perspective as I made myself as one of the characters.
