Camp Cretaceous: Its death time (rewritten)

12. Escape

Brooklyn and Darius walk around trying to find the others. Brooklyn asked, "See anyone?"

Darius clarified, "I can barely see YOU." He found two other people, "I can see two others." He waved his hand. Ben and I made it towards them. We heard some roars a few seconds later. The creatures, that look like herbivores and with a sail on its back, came out of the shadows. Darius was able to identify them, "It's okay. Just an Ouranosaurus. They're big, but pretty much harmless." Then, they roar at us and began chasing us. We ran the other direction.

"You call THIS harmless?" I asked. We ran hoping to hide behind something.

Next, they were going for Yaz. She found a stick, but when she heard them roar, she hid behind a box. They found her, so she used that stick to help her climb the box behind her. The herbivores tried to knock down the box, so she climbed up another one. She managed to jump onto another box when the one she was currently standing on, fell. The herbivores had enough messing with her, so they went to find someone else.

Kenji heard some groans around him. "Yo, Darius! Brooklyn! Truce? Nice try with the scary noises and all but..." He saw that a box moved by itself. He started to get worried and he realized that the groans were actually roars. "Okay. Play time's over. Who's out there?" He felt something behind him, so he ran. His running soon became a chase with the Ouranosaurus running after him. A few seconds later, a stick flew by his head and make some noise once it hit a box. The herbivore ran towards the noise. Kenji realized that it was Yaz who helped him.

She asked him, "Kenji. Where are the others?"

"I don't know," Kenji answered, worried. Yaz jumped down and saw the Kenji was trying to climb the box.

"Get down here, dingus!" He obeyed.

Darius, Brooklyn, Ben, and I were hiding behind a box. We saw the supposingly harmless herbivore attacking a car. Later, it went away. I said, "Lets go." Darius was in front and as he left, he bumped into Kenji and fell down with Kenji on his back. I asked, "Kenji. Are you okay?"

He answered, "Darius broke my fall. Thanks, bro."

"No problem," said Darius.

Yaz realized someone was missing, "Wait. Where's Sammy?" We realized she wasn't with us, as well.

Sammy walks around hoping to find someone, or something. She placed her hands on a dinosaur and yelled, thinking it would attack her. She realized it was only Bumpy. She allows Bumpy to lead her back to the boat, but loses her later on. She walks backwards since she heard a roar behind her. Before a dinosaur spotted her, Yaz grabbed her and shushed her. The herbivore walked right past them. Now as a group, we all began looking for the boat with all the supplies we have.

Darius said, "We gotta get to the boat and cast off."

"What about the hole on the side?" Ben asked.

"We have to figure something out, we don't have a choice."

Kenji asked, "Then where do we go?"

Brooklyn answered, "Anywhere but here." Thinking she found the way to the boat, she hurried, "Come on! It's this way."

Yaz disagreed, "No. It's that way."

"We just CAME from that way," Ben clarified. The two girls sighed in defeat.

Kenji began looking for lights. He found some light in the shape of a boat and figured it WAS the boat. "There! Party yacht for the win!" Except maybe if he didn't yell, he wouldn't attract the dinosaurs that own the dock. The seven of us ran towards the boat. The others got on while Darius and I held back for a bit.

Darius asked, "We gotta patch this thing. Can you do ANYTHING with this tape?"

"Only EVERYTHING," I answered, "Quick! Grab whatever you can to plug it up!" Everyone got their swimsuits to use. We quickly shoved them into the hole, and I started placing tape on it. "This won't hold long, but it's all we've got." They were closer. I managed to tape up the entire hole before they could make it any closer. The both of us quickly made it up the boat while Kenji was attempting to drive.

"Be enough gas, be enough gas!" The boat began to work. "YES!" The boat drifted away and we made it out safe. Or so we thought. Something bumped the boat. We looked to the side and we figured out what it was.

Sammy asked, "Oh they can swim?"

"Clearly," I answered. They kept smacking the boat.

Darius stated the obvious, "We can't outrun them."

"Then maybe we can scare them off?" Brooklyn asked.

Yaz questioned that, "With what?"

I remembered what we have gathered, "Fireworks."

We all went to grab some, and we began using them. The sound made them go away. I said, "Didn't get to scare Kenji, but, I'll take that as a win."

"Heck yeah," Brooklyn agreed.
