Immediately Miss Huldah left the class, the entire class began to murmur and whisper.

'Who is she sef?'

Which kin juju she come use?

Someone to finally put destiny in her place.

Boss woman!

She's actually pretty cute, sha.

Oba rushed over to me, throwing her arms around me.

"I am so proud of you, Winnie. Your new nickname from me, I'm so proud of you gurl!"

I chuckled. "You're making me flattered."

"Nonsense!" Oba said.
"You're in your fame game. You broke a record in our school. Expect attention, babes a whole load of it."

"Oba - what's your full name?"
I asked.

"Obanijesu Riley Adetola."
Rodney told me.

"Obanijesu, listen to me.
I detest being the center of attention. I don't want it.
I don't want to think about it.
I hate it. Thank you,"
I said firmly.

"Winnie! You're no fun!"
She said to me, pouting.

"I'd love to use the toilet, if you don't mind,"
I said to her, getting up from my seat.

"I mind!"
She yelled.

"Being polite doesn't mean I actually care,"
I sassed.

I imagined Oba rolling her eyes and it made me chuckle.

I rushed through the hallways, looking for a sign that had toilet on it, and soon enough, I found it.

After entering one of the stalls and having my business, I was about to leave when I heard sniffing behind a toilet stall.

I wanted to ignore the sniffles, reminding myself that I needed not attention.
But I had too much of a soft heart to do such, so I knocked softly on the door.

I knocked twice but still got no reply.

"Hey, are you okay?"

The sniffles paused and there was movement in the stall.

"Um, I'm sorry if I'm bothering you, but, I can't leave you here without knowing if you're alright,"
I added.

"I'm fine,"
A gruff voice replied.

It seemed like she'd been crying for a while.

"I need to see you to be sure of that,"
I said with a little smile in my voice.

The door to the stall opened and a girl a bit shorter than me, with a milky fair skin and cat eye glasses. Her face was red and her eyes were swollen.

"Hey. Why are you crying?"
I asked.

She let out a humorless chuckle.
"I just found out that my best friend died, two weeks ago,"
She stated, blankly.

"Aww," I cooed.
"Sucks to be us,"

Her eyes widened.
"You too?"

I nodded.
"Partially. Mine is in a comma,"
I said to her.

"I'm so sorry. That's even worse,"

I waved her off.

"Bleh," I replied.
"It's fine."

"I'm treasure omali. You're new?" She asked.

I nodded.
"I'm new. My name is Edwin James-Ohaneze. Nice to meet you."

She gave me a weak smile.
"I'm in SS2 science class 3."

"I'm in art class 1, I'll see you later, yeah?"

She nodded and left the toilet
before me and I stood, staring at the door for a long time.

"Why are you crying, Debra?"
I asked.

She sniffled.
"It's Amanze. He broke up with me,"

"I told you to leave my stupid cousin alone. I told you, you're too good for him!"
I said kneeling to her level.

"Stop giving me a lecture!
Just tell me you love me and all the pain will go away,"
She said, sniffing.

I chuckled, embracing her.
"Oh, Debie. You're a hopeless case,"

"Who's fault is it that I love too hard? Menascum,"
She said to me, laughing admist her tears.
"Yes, Debra. Menascum. I told you that. But don't worry, you can certainly do better,"

Debra nodded.

"Now that I'm single, hook me up with your brother?"

"DEBRA!"
I yelled, laughing.

"Shhhh, no loud am naw,"
She responded.

"You're hopeless Debra,"
I told her.

She chuckled .
"I am. But that's why you love me, Ed."

"I can't say you're wrong,"

I sighed, smiling at the memory.

"I miss you Debra."
I whispered, washing my hands.
"Up next, government test,"
