As exams ended, preparation for the annual End Of Year Party began.

I and AY were the soloists.
We were to sing the Christmas songs together and then sing another song.

We both decided on Omah lay's Bad influence.

I and Bri went together to the music room, where Adeyemi and Oba were already, sitting by the piano and giggling.

I and Bri gave each other knowing looks, before smiling mischievously.

They looked up as if on cue and Oba got up quickly.

"Gotta go to dance," she mumbled, avoiding eye contact and left the music room.

I and Bri shared a brief laugh, before going to sit close to Adeyemi.

Mr Tunde our music teacher, came to address us.

"Our annual end of year party and talent day is coming up.
As you may all know, our principal does not joke with the image of our school.

Our two soloists will be performing a song of their choice, that doesn't involve any wrong or corrupt choice of words.

For the past weeks, we've been practicing our Christmas songs, but not really our soloists, so we will be hearing them today.

Also, if you have any songs you want to sing alone, come and have a discussion with me. Thank you.

Adeyemi and Edwin, the floor is yours. "

Adeyemi began to strike the cords on the piano as I began singing.

I'm rolling on your wheels now.
I'm drinking Hennessy now.
I hope you see now,
Say you don burst my eye glass,
You don scatter my plans,
See my eye e don blast,
You put me for ambulance,
See why you make me page?
Why you make me bae?
Why you dating me?
God save me please.

Adeyemi joined me, playing the cords of the piano.

I know you got me now,
I know you got me now,
I know you got me now.

Followed you up and down,
Followed you up and down,
Followed you up and –

Now I don lost my mind,
Now I don lost my mind,
Now I don lost my–

Now and I know you lie,
Now I know you lie,
Now I know –

Cos the doctor said I burnt my liver,
I've been drinking, smoking cigar,
Used to sing and play my guitar, now I'm lost in this sambisa,

Everything I do am.
Everything wey you talk I do am.
Everything thing wey you ask I do am.

Now you don burst my eye glass,
You don scatter my plans,
See why you make me bae?
Why you make me page?
Why you dating me?
God save me please...

We ended the song softly, but firmly. Just like we had practiced. We ended it in a manner that, in only a matter of seconds, you'd feel like the person singing. You'd feel like the main character in the story.

Mr Tunde and the class applauded for I and Adeyemi, but it was only for that time as he began to rush us into singing all the Christmas carols.

That was what we did, till our voices were sore, and I couldn't even hear myself sing anymore.

Vote and comment and listen to Bad influence by Omah lay.

Also, when I'm writing this, it's 19 days to school resumption.

(Abba, this is your cue)

But until then,

Kisses for my favorite people.
