We last read Chapter 9, in which Geode attempts to pass the third of his father Sledge's five tests, experiencing a rather burning failure the first time around before succeeding the second time. Additionally, Firebird visits Forgemaster Emberson's workshop and attempts to question him regarding the light-blue cloth, but is attacked and violated by him instead, with him having developed a creepy obsession with her ever since she took the throne from Flamestar. After a heated struggle, Firebird defeats and kills Emberson by chucking him into a giant vat of slag. This time, Firebird reunites with Keena and Coldsnap and informs them about her encounter, which leads into the trio deciding what to do next.....

Also, this is the fourth chapter in a row to have its name start with a "T".....I totally did not intend that......

Just as Firebird turned away, though, the door to the workshop creaked open again, and Keena and Coldsnap soon entered. Both the Water and Ice Sect Leaders were immediately treated to the sight of a completely-ruined workshop; the round table inside the kitchenette room had been violently flipped to the left, the smithing tools had been knocked all over the place, there was visible blood on a few of the anvils, and the slag vat was highly agitated and bubbling more than normal.

"Okay......what the fuck happened here?!" Coldsnap exclaimed. "Looks like another storm hit this place!"

"I happened," Firebird replied in a proud, boastful tone.....only to be met with nothing but confused glances and occasional blinks from both Keena and Coldsnap.

".....I don't......get it....." Keena muttered. "This place isn't a pile of ashes, so I find that hard to believe. And where's this 'Forgemaster' you were talking about? I don't see him anywhere!"

Firebird chuckled. "Help me correct the table over there. I'll tell you two everything."

A few minutes later, Firebird, Keena, and Coldsnap were all sitting around the now-upright kitchenette table, with Keena and Coldsnap listening intently as Firebird began telling them of her horrific encounter with Forgemaster Emberson.

"He......he what?!" Coldsnap exclaimed, her irises glowing a slightly brighter shade of light-blue while her pupils stayed black. "What an asshole....."

Firebird smacked her lips. "Yep. ......Yep."

"Oh, no! I'm sorry! I'm really sorry!" Keena sputtered. "If we'd known sooner, we would've gotten here as quickly as we could!"

"Oh, don't worry. I took care of him."

"How?"

Firebird grinned as she pointed to the slag vat. The realization appeared to hit Keena and Coldsnap at the same time, and Coldsnap held her hand up for a high-five while Keena audibly cheered.

"Just 'cause I'm by myself doesn't mean I'm defenseless!" Firebird chirped. "It still kind of sucks, though."

"What do you mean?" Coldsnap inquired. "You gave that monster what was coming to him! Why's that bad?"

"Because he can't tell us about the cloth anymore!" the Fire Sect Leader replied, to which Keena and Coldsnap tilted their heads back and groaned out loud in great disappointment. "Yep. You ever have that feeling where you do something to someone that they totally deserved, only to come and instantly regret it a while later? Yeah. That's me at the moment. Like, literally right after that, I was all like 'Yeah! Take that! Burn in hell, you little bitch!', and then a few seconds later, I was immediately, like.....'Okay, that was stupid. That was really, really stupid.'. .....You know?"
