We last read Chapter 31, in which Coldsnap arrives in the Grand Terminus to seek Firebird and Geode's help after hearing Keena openly confess to murdering her own mentor, Hydraxus, two years ago. Despite her and Keena having a falling out, Coldsnap still refuses to let Firebird or Geode in on Keena's secret, still caring for her privacy more than anything else; instead, she only tells her other friends that she and Keena are going through a "rough spot" and nothing more. After both Firebird and Geode offer Coldsnap some solid advice---mostly having to do with true relationships being able to overcome any problem---the three of them resolve to visit Keena at the Tidal Throne to see how she's doing. Meanwhile, while sleeping, Keena finds herself summoned to The Ascendant's Sanctuary, where The Ascendant himself confronts her on her murder of Hydraxus and, though admonishing her, refuses to punish her too severely, acknowledging that she still has a part to play in helping Coldsnap stop the Storm Sect.....before fully healing her and returning her to the Realms, where she has a heartwarming reunion with Coldsnap, Firebird, and Geode. This time, we watch as W.H.R.R.L., one of Galeforce's spies, attempts to convince the President to hasten the nuclear strike against the Russian border, and Coldsnap and her friends make their final preparations to assault Skycrest.....

-Royal London Hospital, London, England-
The Storm Sect spy called W.H.R.R.L., still flawlessly disguising himself as the President's top advisor Wallace Weiss, hurried down a set of labyrinthine halls towards the impatient ward with four Secret Service agents backing him up. The crew had rushed to the hospital at nearly the last minute; after getting off the phone with Commander Windsor Galeforce, W.H.R.R.L. had informed his men that he needed to speak with the President regarding an urgent matter. And, of course, believing that he was the true Wallace Weiss---which he wasn't---the agents were quick to oblige, putting together a motorcade on relatively short notice.
All five of them threw open the double doors leading to the ward, with W.H.R.R.L. hailing down the first nurse he could spot.
"Excuse me, ma'am, is the President still in the same room as he was earlier this morning?"
The nurse informed him of the President's location.....without even bothering to ask for W.H.R.R.L.'s credentials or anything resembling proper identification; something that W.H.R.R.L. was quick to notice.
"Damn medical practitioners, giving out extremely classified information....." he grumbled, before turning to two of his followers. "You two! Lock down the surrounding area this instant!"
Two of the agents proceeded to apprehend the "offending" nurse and set up a perimeter around the ward, while W.H.R.R.L. and the remaining two men covered the remaining distance between them and the President's room.
W.H.R.R.L. turned the knob on the door and promptly entered, with his backup remaining at the door to deter any visitors.
"Advisor Weiss? I thought I wouldn't be hearing from you any more today.....?" the President asked. ".....Has something come up?"
"Mr. President, something has indeed come up," W.H.R.R.L. informed urgently, trying his best to deliver his act with as much severity and direness as possible. "I would highly, highly suggest that you accelerate the United States' response to Russia's brazen attack on the Hoover Dam. Instead of a week's time, perhaps it could be sooner."
The President raised an eyebrow. "And.....why would we do that?"
"Because, as I implied before, the longer we wait, the more we could potentially lose out on."
