We last read Chapter 28, where Typhoon and Galeforce begin torturing Keena with a mysterious chemical, probing her for information on Hydraxus's death. However, Keena refuses to give in at first---even when the antidote is right in front of her---so Galeforce injects her with a second dose that furthers her suffering, all while Typhoon continues to taunt and stalk her. Meanwhile, Keena's girlfriend, Coldsnap, having become aware of Keena's kidnapping, infiltrates Skycrest and bursts into Galeforce's tower in order to rescue her, putting on a spectacular display of her icy wonder as she rapidly dispatches Galeforce's men and ascends the spire to get to his office. But she is seemingly too late, as Keena personally admits to killing Hydraxus mere moments before Coldsnap can intercept them. Nonetheless, the heroine arrives soon after that, and proceeds to confront Typhoon and Galeforce on their actions. This time, we find out what happens next, as Coldsnap begins to prepare to go toe-to-toe with Typhoon and Galeforce and get Keena out of Skycrest safely.....

"That was quite a shitty move of you; going off and kidnapping her while I wasn't around. Or.....was it because you two were afraid of me?" Coldsnap suggested.
"You!" Typhoon spat. "You're the one who foiled our attack on the President!"
"What?!" Galeforce exclaimed, before turning his head back to the heroine. "This one also flooded our capital and killed hundreds!" he cried, pointing to Keena. "Why have you come all this way to save her?"
Coldsnap chuckled. "I can't say it wasn't what you deserved, man.....you ordered our capital to be flooded first."
".....I don't know what you're talking about," the Storm Sect Leader fibbed, poorly pretending to remain oblivious when he was, in reality, perfectly aware of his actions.
"She and I are two of a kind. If you honestly thought I wouldn't come looking for her.....then I'm afraid you're more of a dumbass than you look."
"Whatever. At any rate, you missed the highlight, little girl," Galeforce taunted. "We already got what we needed out of her." He trudged towards Keena, who was now unconscious and still chained to the overturned chair. Then, he removed her chains and tossed her body below where Coldsnap was hovering. "Did you really barge into my tower to recover this empty shell? Then go ahead and take it!"
Coldsnap lowered herself to the floor and gently shook Keena, looking with great despair at the Water Sect Leader's weakened form and desperately begging her to wake up.....but she wasn't coming to.
"I said 'take it'!" Galeforce repeated. "Take your stupid water girl and get out of here. There's nothing you can do to stop our invasion of Earth, anyway. Best to enjoy what little time you have left."
The heroine hauled Keena's body to safety, then returned to confront Typhoon and Galeforce. "Is this really what you two want?!" she asked.
"Indeed. The extinction of the human race.....and the rest of the Mage Aspects afterward."
"Why?!"
"Why? Because we were neglected! Thrown away! Left to rot!" Galeforce ranted, while Typhoon stood at his side and silently---but solemnly---nodded in agreement. "The Ascendant and the first Sect Leaders were weak; choosing to protect humanity while refusing to acknowledge its flaws. I tried to show them the true path.....and what did I get for it? Banishment! Excommunication! The Ascendant also brought the rest of my Sect with me.....even though they didn't do anything. How backwards is that?!"
"I'm sorry," Coldsnap replied, briefly flashing back to her argument with The Ascendant in which his "group punishment" of the Storm Sect was one of the main discussion points. "You truly deserved better. Both of you. All of you, really. But as a firm servant of The Ascendant, I will not stand for you and your terrorist attacks on Earth."
