We last read Chapter 29, in which Coldsnap successfully barges in on Typhoon and Galeforce's torture and interrogation of Keena, though she is too late to prevent her lover from falling unconscious. After a brutal confrontation with both of them---which is temporarily joined by a random Storm Sect mage on their storm dragon---Galeforce eventually manages to force a stalemate, having Typhoon hold Keena at knifepoint and threatening to have her slit Keena's neck if Coldsnap doesn't surrender. Despite Coldsnap's hate for Galeforce, her love for Keena ultimately wins out, and she gives in, conceding and recovering Keena's body before flying away on her ice dragon and leaving Galeforce and Typhoon unharmed. Typhoon then suggests that Galeforce give the storm mages the order to open fire on the ice dragon, but Galeforce declines, stating that it's only a matter of time before the Mage Aspects---and humans as a whole---meet their ends. This time, we witness Coldsnap successfully return to the Elemental Realms with Keena and help her recover, though their reunion may be soured by the reveal of a particularly dark secret.....

A few minutes after Coldsnap had "successfully" rescued Keena from Galeforce and Typhoon's clutches, the two of them rode the elevator back down to the ground floor of Galeforce's spire.....and were immediately met with quite the sight.

The ground floor—as well as literally every other floor except the office—had been swamped with several feet of snow banks and ornate ice designs as a result of Coldsnap's earlier display of power. Oddly enough, some of the storm mages that had survived her assault were now happily frolicking around the area; some were building snow forts and snowmen, while others were instead having snowball fights with each other.

They seemed to be having the time of their lives.....but Galeforce was very much not.

"What happened here?!" the Commander exclaimed.

"I don't know, sir, but it sure looks fun!" one of the storm mages answered. "Then again, we all got here after everything else happened, so what do we know? We're just here for a good time."

".....Coldsnap did this, didn't she?"

"Looks like it, Commander....." Typhoon said. "It'll take us hours to clean it all up....."

"Ugh. Just.....get started," Galeforce ordered wearily. "I have to make a call."

Typhoon then walked away from her commander's side as Galeforce took out the cell phone that he used to contact "Wallace Weiss", a.k.a. W.H.R.R.L., back on Earth. After fumbling with the buttons for a good few seconds, he finally managed to make a call to his spy.

"Where are you right now?" Galeforce asked W.H.R.R.L. "We just ran into a bit of a snag over here."

"President is wrapped around my finger, Commander," W.H.R.R.L. assured, his voice clearly audible on the other end. "He's all set to launch a nuclear strike against the Russian border in a week's time. After that, it'll only be a matter of time before World War III strikes the globe."

"A week's time?!"

"Yes. .....Something wrong, Commander?"

"It needs to be sooner than that! Can you get back in touch with the President later today?!"

"How soon are we talking?"

Galeforce sighed. "I don't know! Just not a week! Coldsnap and her friends are really starting to become a major problem for us!"

W.H.R.R.L. stayed silent for a moment, then got back to his boss. "Tell me about it. All right.....I'll see what I can do. No promises, though; I can't risk blowing my cover."
